Price Groups are how you can set up specific charge pricing for EV drivers. In this guide, we are going to explain the different elements and requirements, so you can create a set up that fits your pricing needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 easy steps and you are ready to start earning from EV drivers, using your charge points!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Select the type of Price Group <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First you need to select what you want to price. This is a table explaining all of the options. Please follow the necessary links to learn more about the different set ups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Select the type of pricing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Monta offers different types of pricing. Please note that Roaming Price Group only supports Fixed kWh and hourly tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Apply an Hourly tariff (optional)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are setting up a Spot price or a Fixed kWh type pricing, you can select to apply an hourly tariff<\/a>, which goes into the final pricing calculation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can select an available tariff, based on the charge point location, or you can also build a tariff, yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Create additional charging fees (optional)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can create additional fees<\/a>, which apply during or after the charge is complete. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting fee<\/td>One time fee, when the charge begins. <\/td><\/td><\/tr>

Minute fee<\/td>Fee applied per minute, after a specified charging time has been reached. It can be set to apply until the charge is complete or until the cable is released.<\/td>Only charge points that support Release detection<\/a> can be set to “Cable is released” option. <\/td><\/tr>
Idle fee after fully charged<\/td>A minute fee applied if the car remains connected to the charge point after the charge is completed. You can set a maximum amount.<\/td>Only charge points that support Release detection<\/a> can support this fee. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

5. Apply the Price Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The final steps is to apply the Price Group you have created. You can see how to do that from the set up guides linked in step 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some facts that apply to all types of Price Groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Price Groups are set in a Team and they can be applied on charge points or Members in the Team<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You can create multiple Price Groups of the same type (ex. 3 Public Price Groups)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Price Groups can only be managed by the Team Owner and Team Admins with configuration rights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    6. Minimum Charge Fee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Guest Users<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    When a guest user starts a charging session, Monta processes the payment directly through their credit card. Some payment providers require a minimum transaction amount (for example, 0.50 USD or 2.50 DKK) to complete the charge successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because of this, Monta applies a minimum charge fee<\/strong> to guest users:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • If the total charging cost is below the minimum fee, the guest user is charged the minimum amount instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If the charging cost is equal to or above the minimum fee, the user pays the actual amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Example:<\/strong>
      If a session costs 0.40 USD and the minimum fee is 0.50 USD, Monta will charge 0.50 USD to the credit card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      App Users (Wallet-Based Charging)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      This minimum fee does not apply<\/strong> to app users.
      If the charging cost is below the minimum threshold, Monta simply deducts the exact charging amount<\/strong> from the user\u2019s Wallet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Example:<\/strong>
      If a session costs 0.40 USD, Monta debits 0.40 USD from the Wallet – no minimum charge is applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
