{"id":26688,"date":"2025-11-24T11:42:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T10:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monta.com\/en\/?post_type=help-center&#038;p=26688"},"modified":"2025-11-27T16:30:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T15:30:52","slug":"control-where-your-members-charge","status":"publish","type":"help-center","link":"https:\/\/monta.com\/en\/help-center\/control-where-your-members-charge\/","title":{"rendered":"Control where your members charge"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Operators, Team Owners and Admins can define where their members can use the Team Wallet to start charging sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This control helps prevent unwanted roaming costs and keeps charging limited to preferred networks and regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wallet payment restrictions can be applied at several levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Operator:<\/strong> Organization-wide defaults.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Team:<\/strong> Default for all team members and charge keys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Member Group:<\/strong> Narrow rules for specific member groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Member:<\/strong> Individual restrictions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Charge Key:<\/strong> Final level, can further limit access for a single physical key.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower levels inherit settings from the ones above them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admins can choose whether to apply team-level changes to all lower levels or keep existing overrides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inheritance and overrides<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operator-level settings apply to all teams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team-level settings apply to all members and keys unless specifically overridden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Member Group or Member-level changes only apply downward from that point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charge key settings can only narrow the scope, not expand it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When applying new team settings, you can choose to <strong>update all lower levels<\/strong> or <strong>keep current settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What drivers see<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If a driver tries to charge at a location that isn\u2019t in the allowed countries or operators, the session won\u2019t start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ll see a message that the Team Wallet can\u2019t be used at that charge point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restrict wallet payments by country or operator<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings \u2192 Team settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>+ New team setting <\/strong>or click on an existing setting to edit it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the <strong>Basic information<\/strong> and <strong>Member permissions.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Wallet payment restrictions<\/strong> section, select one or more:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Allowed countries<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Allowed charge points<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Apply team settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the confirmation modal, choose whether to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Apply team settings<\/strong> (updates all members and charge keys), or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep current settings<\/strong> (no changes).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div>\n  <script async src=\"https:\/\/js.storylane.io\/js\/v2\/storylane.js\"><\/script>\n  <div class=\"sl-embed\" style=\"position:relative;padding-bottom:calc(48.63% + 25px);width:100%;height:0;transform:scale(1)\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sl-demo\" src=\"https:\/\/app.storylane.io\/demo\/12hwb8uxx4af?embed=inline\" name=\"sl-embed\" title=\"Interactive product demo\" aria-label=\"Interactive product demo\" allow=\"fullscreen\" allowfullscreen style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%!important;height:100%!important;border:1px solid rgba(63,95,172,0.35);box-shadow: 0px 0px 18px rgba(26, 19, 72, 0.15);border-radius:10px;box-sizing:border-box;\"><\/iframe>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply restrictions to a Member Group<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open your team and go to <strong>Members &amp;
