{"id":2684,"date":"2022-07-10T11:23:32","date_gmt":"2022-07-10T10:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monta.com\/uk\/?post_type=help-center&#038;p=2684"},"modified":"2025-12-10T15:15:56","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T14:15:56","slug":"add-edit-assign-charge-key","status":"publish","type":"help-center","link":"https:\/\/monta.com\/en\/help-center\/add-edit-assign-charge-key\/","title":{"rendered":"Add and edit charge keys"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are charge keys?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Charge keys are used to start a charging session and are connected to a Team Wallet, which is used to pay for those sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charge keys can also be assigned to a Team Member. When a charge key is assigned, you can see who used it, and their name will appear in the transaction exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that if your Team is frozen due to a negative Wallet balance or unpaid invoices, charging cannot be started. If a charge key is assigned to a Team Member and they attempt to charge while the Team Wallet is frozen, the session will be paid from their Personal Monta Wallet instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add a charge key in Monta Hub<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Team, where you want to add the charge key<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Payment<\/strong> and select <strong>Charge keys<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>+Pair charge key<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill in the charge key information\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>See table bellow for explanation of the different fields<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div>\n        <script src=\"https:\/\/js.storylane.io\/js\/v1\/storylane.js\"><\/script>\n        <div class=\"sl-embed\" style=\"position:relative;padding-bottom:calc(54.38% + 27px);width:100%;height:0;transform:scale(1)\">\n          <iframe class=\"sl-demo\" src=\"https:\/\/app.storylane.io\/demo\/czbf4oecnkyb\" name=\"sl-embed\" title=\"Interactive product demo\" aria-label=\"Interactive product demo\" allow=\"fullscreen; camera; microphone\" style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;border:none;\"><\/iframe>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Field<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>What is this field?<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Comments<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Key name<\/td><td>Name of the charge key. This will appear in transaction exports<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Identifier<\/td><td>Serial number of charge key. It must be 8,14,16 or 20 characters.<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Vehicle<\/td><td>Select a car you want to attach to the charge key.<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ownership<\/td><td>Attach the charge key to a specific Team member. <\/td><td>If the charge key has an owner, their name will appear in a transaction export.
