Monta Charge offers several ways to start and control charging on your personal charge point at home.

Before you can start charging, you need to add and connect your charge point to your Monta account. Check the integration guides available in the help centre for your charge point brand. Once connected, your charge point appears under Chargers as Available.

To set up automated charging, create a Charging rule.

Charge now

1. Tap your charge point to open it.
2. Select the Charge now tab.
3. Select the car you are charging (optional).
   • Adding your car tells the system its battery capacity.
   • If your car is integrated, the system also receives the current state of charge.
4. Select the charging amount (optional).
   • You can charge a fixed kWh amount, charge continuously, or charge by percentage.
   • Your car can stop the session early if its battery limit setting is reached.
5. Swipe to start charging.

Scheduled charge

1. Tap your charge point to open it.
2. Select the Scheduled charge tab.
3. Select the car you are charging (optional).
   • Adding your car tells the system its battery capacity.
   • If your car is integrated, the system also receives the current state of charge.
4. Set the time frame for charging.
   • Enter a start and stop time.
   • Your car can stop the session early if its battery limit setting is reached.
5. Swipe to confirm the scheduled charge.
   • The charge starts at the set start time, even if you plug in before then.

SmartCharge

SmartCharge schedules your session to run when electricity prices are lowest, or when renewable or low-carbon energy is available. Before starting a SmartCharge session, complete the SmartCharge setup in your charge point's Access settings.

1. Tap your charge point to open it.
2. Select the SmartCharge tab.
3. Select the car you are charging (optional).
4. Set the time frame for charging.
   • Select when you want the car ready for pickup.
   • Optionally set a Delayed start to delay the charge from that point.
   • Your car can stop the session early if its battery limit setting is reached.
5. Adjust your SmartCharge preferences if needed.
6. Swipe to set up the SmartCharge session.
   • The charge starts according to Monta's SmartCharge algorithm, even if you plug in before then.
