Charging rules let you pre-define how your home charge point starts charging. Once a rule is set, you do not need to manually start a session each time.

Before setting up a charging rule, note the following:

• Charging rules only work when the charge point is set to Private.
• You can only have one active charging rule at a time.
• You can still start a manual charge (slide to start in Monta Charge) even with a rule active.
• Your charge point must support Autostart and AutoSmartCharge.
• You must be the owner of the charge point or have configuration rights.

How do I access charging rules?

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Tap + Charging rule and choose from:
   • SmartCharge (previously Auto SmartCharge)
   • Scheduled charge
   • Charge immediately (previously Autostart)

If you have not set up a rule yet, the Chargers tab shows an Activate charging rule? prompt. Tap Set up charging rule to get started. Once a rule is active, its settings appear in the Chargers tab. You can also see active sessions based on a rule, including start time and expected completion.

SmartCharge rule

A SmartCharge rule automatically schedules your charge session according to your preferences. Make sure SmartCharge is enabled in your charge point's Access settings before proceeding.

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Select SmartCharge.
4. Choose whether to delay the start of the charge.
   • The algorithm schedules the start after the delay you specify.
5. Select when you want the car ready for pickup.
6. Select the car and charging amount.
7. Tap Save rule.
8. Review the rule to confirm it fits your needs.

Scheduled charge rule

A scheduled charge rule starts charging at the same time every day. Plug in your car and the charge starts automatically at the set time.

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Select Scheduled charge.
4. Set a start and end time for the charge.
5. Tap Save rule.
6. Review the rule to confirm it fits your needs.

Charge immediately rule

Charge immediately starts the session as soon as the car is plugged in. Make sure no schedules on the car or charge point could interfere.

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Select Charge immediately.
4. Tap Save Rule.
5. Review the rule to confirm it fits your needs.

How do I update a charging rule?

You can only have one rule active at a time, but you can switch between types at any time.

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Tap the active rule.
4. Tap Charging type to select a different rule type.
   • To deactivate the rule without deleting it, toggle it off.

How do I enable reimbursed charging on a rule?

This option is only available if you have already set up reimbursed charging. When enabled, all charges started via the selected rule are sponsored by your employer.

1. Open Chargers and find your charge point.
2. Tap the settings wheel and select Charging rules.
3. Tap your current rule.
4. Toggle on Activate reimburse charges.
5. Save your changes.
