Home features in Monta Charge

Learn what home features are, how to set them up, and which devices are compatible with SolarCharge and fuse protection.

For: Drivers using Monta Charge with a home charge point

A Home in Monta is the foundation of your energy management setup. It groups your charge point with your energy integrations so smart features can be applied together.

What are home features?

By linking your charge point to a Home, you unlock energy management tools:

  • Solar charging — charge your electric vehicle (EV) using surplus solar energy.
  • Fuse protection — prevent blown fuses and optimise charging speed.

In many electrified homes, EV charging can account for nearly half of all electricity use. Unlike heat pumps or other appliances, EV charging can respond instantly to changing conditions — making Monta Home features especially effective.

How do I set up a Home?

  1. Open the Chargers tab in Monta Charge.
  2. Tap the menu () and select Home features.
  3. If you have not set up a Home yet:
    • Tap Linked chargers and select the chargers to include.
    • Set up solar charging if needed.
    • Set up fuse protection if needed.

How do I delete a Home?

  1. Open the Chargers tab in Monta Charge.
  2. Tap the menu (⋮) and select Home features.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Home features.
  4. This removes all integrations for that Home:
    • Your chargers and team are not affected.
    • You can re-add integrations at any time.

MQTT broker integrations

Some hardware can connect to Monta using MQTT, a standardised data protocol. This makes it possible to integrate third-party devices not directly supported in the app. To connect a device via MQTT, contact your customer success manager (CSM) for assistance.
