The AI Assistant answers your drivers' questions in your app, looks up their charging data and fixes common charge point problems with their confirmation.

For: Operators with their own branded driver app

The AI Assistant is a chat in your driver app. Drivers ask questions in their own words and get an answer straight away, around the clock. It speaks in your app's name and refers drivers to your company for billing and support.

The AI Assistant is switched on per operator. Contact your Monta team to enable it for your app. The AI Assistant is currently free. It may become a paid add-on later.

What the AI Assistant can do

Before it answers, the assistant looks up the driver's own data. Within that data, it only sees what the driver is allowed to see in the app.

  • Charging sessions: Energy, battery level, duration, price paid and why a session failed, paused or was slow.
  • Charge point status: Online or offline, availability, connector status and whether a cable is plugged in.
  • Find another charge point: Free charge points at the same location first, then the nearest available ones in your network.
  • Charge keys: Whether a charge key is active, where it works and why a recent tap was refused.
  • Wallet, teams and vehicles: Wallet transactions, the teams the driver belongs to, and the vehicle's battery size and charging limits.
  • Smart charging: When a scheduled charge was planned to start, and why.
  • Help articles and manuals: How-to questions and troubleshooting steps.

With the driver's confirmation, it can also take three actions on a charge point:

  • Release a cable that is stuck
  • Restart a charge point that is in error
  • Stop a session that won't stop

These follow the same rules as the buttons in the app. The assistant only offers an action the driver is allowed to take, and names the charge point before it acts.

Where drivers find it

  • Support screen: An AI Assistant card at the top.
  • Help for a charge point, session or payment: The assistant already knows which one the driver was looking at.
  • Failed charge: A shortcut that asks why the charge failed.
  • Offline charge point: A shortcut that helps the driver troubleshoot it.
  • Before contacting support: When a driver taps to chat, open a ticket or call support, the app suggests the assistant first. The driver can still continue to your support.

The chat opens on top of the current screen and can be minimised to a small bubble while the driver keeps using the app. Conversations are saved, and the assistant replies in the driver's language.

What it does not do

  • Start a charging session
  • Issue refunds or change payment methods, subscriptions or account details
  • Order, block or unblock charge keys
  • Open support tickets or hand the chat over to a person
  • Show other drivers' data

When it can't solve a problem, it tells the driver what it checked and points them to the Support section of your app.

How do I give the assistant information about my business?

Monta can add context for your drivers, such as your support hours, refund policy and procedures. Where this context differs from the general help articles, the assistant follows your context. Drivers may see parts of it, so it should not contain confidential information.

  1. In Monta Hub, go to Settings > Monta AI > Configuration.
  2. Open Consumer agent to read your current context.
  3. To set it up or change it, contact your Monta team.

How do I see how much it is used?

In Monta Hub, go to Settings > Monta AI > Overview. You can see conversations, active users and tokens used for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or this month. The figures cover all your Monta AI usage, including the assistant in your Hub.
