How do I create and manage charge profiles?

This article explains how to set up SmartCharge and scheduled charge profiles in Monta and assign them to charge keys (RFIDs) for fleet use.

For: Fleet managers and operators using charge keys (RFIDs) with Monta teams

Charge profiles let you configure SmartCharge or scheduled charging on your fleet using charge keys (Radio-Frequency Identification, RFID). Your charge points and charge keys must be connected to the same team.

  • SmartCharge profiles — optimize charging based on electricity cost, CO₂ output, or renewable energy availability.
  • Scheduled charging profiles — set a specific time for the vehicle to start charging.

Before creating a charge profile, note these two settings:

  • Fallback start state of charge (SoC) % — if the vehicle cannot report its battery level, this value is used as the assumed SoC for determining when to start charging. Vehicle SoC is only available if the vehicle is integrated with Monta.
  • Vehicle max battery override % — the maximum battery charge level. For example, entering 80% means the vehicle will charge to a maximum of 80% capacity.

After creating a profile, assign it to a charge key. When a driver taps the RFID card on a charge point, the SmartCharge or scheduled charge is triggered automatically.
