How to use operator adjustment transactions to move funds between your operator wallet and an account wallet.
How to transfer funds between your operator wallet and an account
Who this is for: Operators who want to move money between their operator wallet and one of their accounts' wallets — for example, to correct a billing mistake or add a small credit to an account. This feature is called operator adjustment transactions.
Before you start: This feature is enabled by Monta on request. If you don't see Transfer funds on the Adjustments page, contact your Monta contact or support to have it turned on for your operator.
What operator adjustment transactions do
An operator adjustment transaction moves funds between your operator wallet and one of your accounts' wallets. Transfers work in both directions: you can move funds from your operator wallet to an account, or from an account back to your operator wallet. It's designed for small corrections and credits — not large or routine payouts.
Transfers complete immediately, so double-check the details before you confirm. A completed transfer can only be reversed by refunding the transaction.
Before you begin
- Your operator must have operator adjustment transactions enabled (see the note above).
- You'll transfer in your operator wallet's currency.
- Each transfer is subject to two limits set for your operator: a maximum amount per transfer and a maximum number of transfers per month. You can see both at the top of the Adjustments page.
- Because the feature is meant for correcting errors, limits are usually modest — typically around 500 EUR/USD per transfer and a few hundred transfers per month. Your operator's exact limits may differ.
How to make a transfer
- In Hub, go to Finance → Adjustments.
- Select Transfer funds.
- Choose the account and the direction — from your operator wallet to the account, or from the account to your operator wallet.
- Enter the amount.
- (Optional) Add a note describing the reason for the transfer.
- Review the balance preview, which shows what each wallet will hold after the transfer.
- Select Transfer funds, then confirm.
You'll see a confirmation once the transfer is complete. The funds are available in the receiving wallet right away.
Tip: A new transfer can take a few seconds to appear in the History list. If you don't see it immediately, refresh the page after 10–20 seconds.
Reviewing past transfers
The Adjustments page shows:
- Transferred this month — the total you've moved so far this month.
- Adjustments this month — how many transfers you've made against your monthly limit.
- Per-transaction limit — the maximum amount allowed in a single transfer.
The History table lists every past transfer with the transaction type, source, destination, amount, status, note, and who made it. You can search and export this list.
Good to know
- Your operator wallet can go negative. A transfer from your operator wallet isn't blocked if the amount is more than the wallet holds, so check your balance before you confirm.
- If you reach your monthly transfer limit or exceed the per-transfer amount limit, the transfer will be rejected. Contact your Monta contact if you need your limits adjusted.
