How do I restrict where my members charge externally?

Explains how to restrict external charging access for your team members so they can only charge on approved networks.

By default, your Monta members can charge on any external network available through Monta roaming. This article explains how to restrict external charging access.

Why restrict external charging?

You may want to restrict external charging to:

  • Limit costs for your team members on company-funded accounts.
  • Keep charging within approved networks only.
  • Prevent unauthorised use of the team wallet for roaming sessions.

Access control options

In Monta Hub, you can:

  • Allow all external networks — the default. Members can charge anywhere Monta has a roaming agreement.
  • Restrict to specific networks — members can only charge on networks you approve.
  • Block external charging — members can only charge on your own charge points.

How to configure access controls

  1. Go to Teams in Monta Hub.
  2. Select a team.
  3. Go to Team settings.
  4. Find the External charging setting.
  5. Select your preferred option.
  6. Save.
