How do I see and replay my webhook deliveries in Monta Hub?

Help Center / Monta Hub / How do I see and replay my webhook deliveries in Monta Hub?

For: Operators and developers who receive Monta Partner API webhooks, and support teams who investigate missing webhooks.

Webhook activity shows every webhook Monta sends to your API keys' endpoints as it happens. You see what was sent, how your endpoint answered, and which entries are waiting to be sent again. Use it to find out why a webhook did not arrive, and to replay failed entries after you fix your endpoint.

Webhook activity is an early access feature. Turn it on through Release channel before you use it. It turns on for all operators on 28 January 2027.

What is webhook activity?

A webhook is a message that Monta sends to your endpoint when something changes, such as a charge update. Monta sends these messages in batches. One batch is a request, and each change inside it is an entry.

Webhook activity lists these requests live, one lane for each API key. It covers the last 30 minutes of traffic.

How do I turn on webhook activity?

  1. Go to Admin > Release channel.

  2. Turn on Webhook activity.

Your operator also needs access to the Monta API. If you do not see API under Admin > Developers, contact Monta support. For more about release tracks, see Control how new features roll out with Release channel.

Who can see webhook activity?

Any member of your operator with access to the API section can open webhook activity and read the payloads. Payloads can contain business data. Give access only to people who need it.

How do I open webhook activity?

  1. Go to Admin > Developers > API.

  2. Select Webhook activity.

To see one API key only, open the key from the API page. Its Webhooks section shows the same live view for that key. Select Open webhook activity to see all keys.

How do I read the live view?

API key lanes

Each lane is one API key. It shows the host of the key's endpoint and the requests on their way to it. By default, you see the six busiest keys. To watch other keys, use the Showing picker and select up to six.

A lane shows these states:

  • Queued entry: an entry that waits to be sent.

  • Delivery in flight: a request that Monta is sending.

  • 2xx: your endpoint answered with a success code (200 to 299).

  • Failed: your endpoint returned an error or did not answer.

  • Waiting to retry: a failed entry that Monta sends again later.

Select Pause to freeze the view and Resume to continue.

A key without a webhook shows No webhook configured. A key with webhooks turned off shows Webhooks disabled.

Numbers for the last 15 minutes

  • Requests in the last 15 min: how many requests Monta sent.

  • Entries in the last 15 min: how many entries those requests carried.

  • Answered 2xx: the share of requests that your endpoint answered with a success code. The tile turns red below 95%.

  • Median response: the typical time your endpoint took to answer.

  • Waiting to retry: how many entries are scheduled to be sent again.

Deliveries table

The Deliveries table has one row for each request that Monta sent in the last 30 minutes. The newest row is first. The columns are Time, API key, Entries, Result, Queued and Duration.

To find a delivery, enter text in Search deliveries. Search matches the key name, entry ID, event type and error, for example 503. It does not search the content of the payload.

You can also filter the table:

  • Result: Delivered (2xx), Failed or Sending.

  • Event type: the kind of change, such as a charge update.

  • API key: one or more keys.

  • Retry: Retries only or First tries only.

  • Duration: is at least, is at most or is between a number of milliseconds.

Filters combine. The page address keeps your filters, so you can share a filtered view with a colleague.

What do the results mean?

The Result column shows how your endpoint answered:

  • Sending: Monta is sending the request and waits for an answer.

  • 2xx: your endpoint answered with a success code. The entries are delivered.

  • Failed: the request failed.

  • Timed out: your endpoint did not answer within 5 seconds.

  • 503 error: your endpoint answered with an error code. The number changes with the code your endpoint returned.

  • Unknown: Monta returned a status that Hub does not recognise yet. Other deliveries keep updating.

A retry shows its number in the Result column, for example Retry 2.

How does Monta retry failed webhooks?

Monta sends a failed entry again, up to 8 attempts in total. The delay grows after each attempt: 1 min, 5 min, 15 min, 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 12 h. After the last attempt, Monta stops. The delivery then shows Attempt 8 of 8 and no next try.

Delivered entries leave the view about an hour after they are sent. Undelivered entries stay for up to 24 hours, so you can see and replay them. Fix your endpoint and replay failed entries before then.

How long did a request wait before it was sent?

The Queued column shows how long a request waited before Monta sent it:

  • For a first try, the time counts from when Monta created the entry.

  • For a retry, the time counts from when the retry was due.

  • For a replay, the time counts from when you selected replay.

Scheduled retry means Hub did not see when the retry was due. Not measured means Hub saw the entry sent again but not when. Replayed marks a request that you or a colleague replayed.

How do I see the details of a delivery?

  1. Select a row in the Deliveries table, or select a request in the lane.

  2. Read the Delivery panel.

The panel shows:

  • Sent: when Monta sent the request.

  • To: the URL that Monta sent the request to. Hub hides secrets in the URL.

  • API key: the key that the request belongs to.

  • Answer: how your endpoint answered and how long it took.

  • Attempt: the attempt number out of 8, and when the next try is due.

  • Waited in queue: the typical wait and the longest wait.

  • Last activity: the latest change to the request's entries.

  • Every entry in the request, and the Entry payload of the entry you select.

Select Copy body to copy the exact request body that Monta sent.

How do I replay failed entries?

Replay sends the failed entries of a delivery again. Use it after you fix your endpoint.

  1. Open the failed delivery.

  2. Select Replay followed by the number of entries, for example Replay 3 entries now.

Monta queues the entries again and sends them in the next sending cycle. A replay starts the entries again from attempt 1. Any member of your operator can replay entries.

What can I not do yet?

You cannot change webhook settings in Hub yet. To set up or change a webhook, its event types or its secret, use the Partner API.

Where can I learn more about webhooks?

For setup, signature checks and event types, see the Partner API webhook documentation.
