Great technology is built by curious minds. Here, we prioritise people first, fuelling a culture where asking ‘why’ is just as important as knowing ‘how.’ Dive into our employer blog to find out what makes Monteers tick – both in and outside of the office.
Next up: Julian Posse, Enterprise Sales Director in Copenhagen. With a wealth of experience in navigating high-level strategic partnerships, Julian is currently spearheading Monta’s expansion in the DACH region. By translating technical complexity into clear commercial value and building trusted partnerships, he helps enterprise partners grow with Monta at scale.
Take us behind the scenes. What challenge are you working on right now that really excites you?
Quite simply: positioning Monta as a leading player in the German market. Historically, Germany is a challenging landscape for software and e-mobility; it’s heavily process-oriented and relationship-driven. Success there depends on building deep trust, providing impeccable references, and maintaining a strong brand image.
For me, this means working on multiple levels – from being a meticulous project manager to acting as the “Challenger” the market often needs. It requires a healthy dose of patience, but I’m seeing real momentum in the German-speaking market right now. Making a tangible difference through these relationships is incredibly energising.
When do you feel most supported by your team?
E-mobility is a deeply technical field and is constantly evolving. In a sales role, you have to be a “jack of all trades,” understanding everything from roaming and load balancing to payment terminals. It often feels like I’m back at university!
I feel most supported when I can bring our smart, knowledgeable “Monteers” into customer conversations. Their specific competency in niche areas makes a massive difference. I value staying humble – I can’t know everything, so I love it when a teammate joins a call and teaches me something new. It allows me to stay curious and communicate our product more effectively.
What fuels you when the laptop closes?
I focus on three things to recharge:
- Great food: I have a special passion for Danish bakeries. My absolute number one is Juno; their cardamom buns are just around the corner from the Monta office and bring me so much joy.
- Body: I have weekly squash sessions and hit the gym regularly. I even learned to do a handstand at 33 – proof you’re never too old for new tricks! I also love ending the week with a sauna and cold plunge to reset for the days ahead.
- Connection: As an expat in Denmark, spending time with family and friends – even virtually – is vital. Whether it’s a long phone call with a friend in Austria or catching up with someone in Germany, those connections keep me grounded.
What are you most excited to build with your team over the next six months?
Last year, we planted many seeds in Sales. Over the next six months, I’m excited to harvest that hard work, whilst planting new seeds that will prosper even faster because we’re in a more mature stage now.
My day is a mix of discovery calls and demos with new customers, where we explore together whether Monta is the right partner from both a technical and strategic perspective. A large part of my role is also project management – from creating proposals and presentations to running workshops, sometimes remotely and sometimes on site.
I regularly travel to meet customers in person or attend industry events to better understand the market. That’s exactly what I value most about my job: direct exchange, meaningful conversations, and the opportunity to keep learning – both professionally and personally.
