Control how new features roll out with Release channel
Operator-facing guide to the Release channel page.
What is Release channel?
Release channel lets you decide how quickly new Monta features arrive in your operator account. Instead of every new feature appearing automatically, you choose a release track that sets a sensible default, then fine-tune individual features on top of it.
You'll find it in Hub → Developer tools → Release channel. Changing your track or toggling features requires the Operator Admin or Operator Manager role.
Choose a release track
Open Release channel and pick one of three tracks. Your choice sets the default for every feature that's still being rolled out:
- Early access — get new features the moment they're ready. Best if you want the latest capabilities first and don't mind occasional rough edges and changes between releases.
- Standard — get features once they've been validated with early-access operators. Recommended for most teams.
- Self-managed — nothing turns on automatically. Every feature stays off until you switch it on yourself.
Selecting a track saves immediately, and the features list below updates to reflect the new default.
Turn individual features on or off
The features list shows every feature you can opt into. For each one you can see its area, stage, the date it was added, and its scheduled auto-release date.
- Use the Enabled switch to turn a feature on or off for your whole account. This overrides your track default for that feature, and an Overridden label appears next to it.
- To go back to following your track, click the Reset (undo) button next to an overridden feature.
Try a feature yourself first
Want to test a feature before rolling it out to your whole team? Use the “Try myself” toggle (the eye icon) on any feature. This turns it on for your login only — nobody else in your account is affected — and a Previewing badge appears next to the feature.
When you're done, switch the eye toggle off to stop previewing. If you decide to keep the feature, turn on the Enabled switch to roll it out to the whole account.
See more about a feature
Click a feature's name to open its detail panel. It shows the full description, the feature's stage and area, when it was added, its scheduled auto-release date, and a Learn more link when one is available.
Good to know
- Changes can take a few minutes to apply. After you switch tracks or toggle a feature, allow up to 5 minutes for the change to take effect across your account.
- Some features switch on automatically. Each feature has an auto-release date. Once that date passes, the feature turns on for your whole account and stays on — this is how features graduate to being a standard part of Monta.
- Who can make changes. Anyone in your account can view Release channel, but only Operator Admins and Operator Managers can change the track or toggle features.
- Features that reach general availability drop off the list once they're part of Monta for everyone.
