Charge point details and settings
Learn how to view and edit charge point details, set a precise location, lock the cable, and transfer the charge point to another user or team in Monta Hub.
Monta Hub lets you enrich charge point information, fine-tune location, manage cable settings, and transfer charge points to other users or teams.
Charge point details
To access the Details page, open the charge point and click Details. From here you can:
- Add technical and accessibility attributes
- Edit the connector type(s)
- Define vehicle type compatibility based on physical space requirements
- Specify installation characteristics and physical constraints
- Add usage policies to prevent misuse
How do I edit the charge point name and location?
- Open the charge point and click Details.
- Edit the name, site, or location.
- Leave an internal note for admins if needed.
- Click Save.
How do I manually set a precise location?
We recommend obtaining the latitude and longitude from Google Maps.
- Open the charge point and click Details.
- Click Manually set a location.
- Confirm the address is correct.
- Enter the specific Latitude and Longitude values from Google Maps.
- Click Set Location.
How do I lock the cable to the charge point?
Some charge point models support cable locking. Check the supported charge points list on the Monta website for the cable lock feature.
- Open the charge point and click Settings.
- Scroll down and toggle on Lock cable to charge point.
How do I transfer a charge point to another user?
This action moves the charge point to the personal team of the specified user.
- Open the charge point and click the ... action button in the top-right corner.
- Click Transfer charge point to user.
- Enter the email or phone number of the Monta user.
- Check Delete Connection only if you want to remove the Monta connection.
- Click Transfer.
How do I transfer a charge point to another team?
You must have Admin rights in the destination team.
- Open the charge point and click the ... action button in the top-right corner.
- Click Transfer charge point to Team.
- Select the destination team from the list.
- Click Transfer.
How do I add enhanced details to a charge point?
Enhanced details let you add structured information to each charge point. This information appears in the Monta Charge app for drivers and is shared with roaming networks via OCPI 2.2.1.
- Go to Chargers and select a charge point.
- Select the Details tab.
- Complete the fields described below.
- Click Save.
Vehicle compatibility
Select the vehicle types that fit the parking space at this charge point. Drivers with disability permits and operators of heavy-duty vehicles see matching badges on the charge point card in Monta Charge.
- Personal vehicle — Standard passenger car
- Personal vehicle with trailer — Car towing a trailer
- Van — Light commercial vehicle
- Bus — Full-size bus or coach
- Motorcycle — Two-wheeled vehicle
- Lorry — Heavy-duty truck
- Lorry with dangerous goods — HazMat-certified transport
- Lorry with trailer — Articulated truck
- Rigid lorry — Non-articulated heavy truck
- Vehicle with disability permit — Accessible space for drivers with disability parking badges
Usage policies
Select any access restrictions that apply to this charge point. Policies are shared with roaming networks so drivers can check access requirements before arriving.
- EV only — Parking reserved for electric vehicles
- Parking only while charging — Drivers must leave when the session ends
- Employees only — Restricted to staff
- Building tenants only — Restricted to building residents or tenants
- Customers only — For example, retail or hospitality guests
- Taxis only — Reserved for licensed taxis
- Disability permit — Requires a valid disability parking badge
- Behind barrier — Access controlled by gate, barrier, or key fob
- Reservation required — Must be booked in advance via Monta Charge
- Overnight parking allowed — Parking permitted outside charging session hours
- Additional parking fees — A separate parking charge applies in addition to the charging fee
Installation characteristics
- Floor level — The floor where the charge point is located (for multi-storey car parks)
- Cable length — The length of the attached cable in metres
