For: Operators using Monta Hub

A charging site is a group of charge points that share the same address. Grouping charge points into sites unlocks several Monta features.

What is a charging site?

Charging sites enable the following features in Monta Hub:

  • Bulk firmware update — update the firmware of multiple charge points at once from a single site.
  • Load management — set up load management across charge points in a site or across multiple sites.
  • SmartQueue — let electric vehicle (EV) drivers join a virtual queue at a site and get notified when a charge point becomes available.
  • Installer jobs — create shareable jobs for installers connecting charge points on the site. Installers can test the Monta connection when configuration is complete.

How do I add a new charging site?

Charging sites are created within teams. You can have multiple sites per team, but a site cannot span multiple teams.

  1. Select Chargers from the left side menu.
  2. Click Add and select Charging site.
  3. Select the team the site should belong to.
  4. Select manual setup.
  5. Enter a name and address for the charging site.
  6. Choose whether to add charge points to the site now.

How do I import a charging site from Zaptec?

You can import a charging site by syncing it via API. Zaptec is currently the only supported brand for this integration.

  1. Select Charging sites from the left side menu.
  2. Click Add new and select the team.
  3. Select Advanced setup.
  4. Click Zaptec.
  5. Log in with your Zaptec Cloud credentials.
  6. Select the site — the charge points will be synced to Monta.
