Monta can automatically deactivate charge points that have gone unused for a long time. Deactivating a charge point removes it from your active fleet: it stops counting as a billable subscription unit and is taken off the public map. This keeps your charge point list and billing focused on chargers that are actually in use.
Because deactivating a charger is a commercial decision, you control whether this automatic clean-up runs for your account with a single setting.
This is rolling out gradually and may not be available to every operator yet.
What "unused" means
The automatic sweep only ever considers charge points that have clearly gone quiet. A charge point is picked up when all of the following are true:
- It is disconnected or passive — not actively communicating with the platform.
- It has not been active for more than 60 days.
- It has been offline for more than 90 days.
Charge points that are online, in use, or recently active are never touched by the automatic sweep.
Turn automatic deactivation on or off
- In Monta Hub, open your operator profile settings.
- Find Automatically deactivate unused charge points.
- Toggle it on to let Monta automatically deactivate charge points that meet the criteria above, or off to keep all your charge points active regardless of how long they have been unused.
- Save.
The setting is off by default, so no charge point is ever automatically deactivated unless you opt in.
What happens when a charge point is deactivated
- It is removed from your active fleet and no longer counts as a billable subscription unit.
- It is taken off the public map, so drivers can no longer find or start a session on it.
- Its history and records are kept — deactivation does not delete the charge point.
Reactivating a charge point
Deactivation is not permanent. If a charge point comes back online and starts charging again, or you need it back in your fleet, it can be reactivated — it will then count as a billable unit and reappear on the map. If you are unsure, leave the setting off and deactivate chargers manually when you are certain they are no longer needed.
Prefer to deactivate manually?
Leave the setting off. You can still deactivate individual charge points yourself at any time, and our support team can deactivate specific chargers on request — that always works independently of this setting.
