How do I set up a Perific meter?

Step-by-step instructions for connecting a Perific (formerly Enegic) external meter to Monta, so it can report meter values to a Load Management group.

For: Charge point operators setting up Dynamic Load Management with a Perific (formerly Enegic) external meter.

Monta's Dynamic Load Management (previously Load Balancing) system requires the charge points on a site to report how many amps are being drawn from the site's available current. A Perific external meter handles this reporting.

For a comprehensive technical explanation of Load Management at Monta, download the Load Management technical white paper.

Step 1 — Open the settings in the Perific app

Open the Perific app and tap the Settings menu.

Step 2 — Select Licenses

Tap Register new license. You can find the license QR code on a flyer included in the box with your Perific meter. If there is no flyer, contact Perific to request a license.

Step 3 — Select Reporter

  1. Tap Reporter at the top of the screen.
  2. Set Select type of reporter to Monta Control.
  3. Enter a Name for the reporter.
  4. Enter the Monta installation ID — this is the identifier of your Load Management group. Find it in Monta Hub under Load Management > open the group > right side of the screen.
  5. Under Select Perific Monitor Device, choose your device from the drop-down menu.
  6. Tap Save.

The Perific meter is now connected to your Load Management group and ready to report to Monta.
