How do I create a Flat fee plan?

Step-by-step guide for charge point operators to create a Flat fee subscription plan in Monta, configure pricing, add charging discounts, and apply and approve the plan for teams.

For: Charge point operators with Admin or Manager rights who want to create and manage Flat fee subscription plans.

A Flat fee plan is a type of custom monthly subscription available to charge point operators (CPOs). Once applied to a team, the plan charges the team wallet a flat monthly fee, which is transferred to the operator wallet.

Select the plan type

  1. Go to Customer Relations > Plans & Subscriptions in the side menu.
  2. Click + New plan.
  3. Select Flat fee plan.

Add service details

  1. Enter a name for the plan.
  2. State the monthly price, including VAT (value-added tax).
  3. Write a summary of the services you are offering.
  4. Review the plan and click Next.

Create a charging discount (optional)

The Charge Subscription discount is available for Flat fee plans only. It gives team members a discount for charging on your charge points.

  1. Toggle on Apply discount on charging.
  2. Use the checkbox to specify whether the discount applies only when the driver pays with the team wallet. If disabled, the discount applies regardless of payment method.
  3. Click + Add charge discount.
  4. Give the discount a name.
  5. Set a discount value as a percentage of the charge price.
  6. Select whether to limit the charge points the discount applies to:
    • Any charge point — applies to all charge points under your operator account.
    • Selected charge points — applies to specific charge points (selected per team).
  7. Click Create Discount. Once created, the discount can be reused in other Flat fee plans.

Apply a charging discount to the plan

  1. Toggle on Apply discount on charging.
  2. Click Add charge discount and select an existing discount.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Select whether to apply the discount only when the team wallet is used:
    • Yes — discount applies only when the user pays with the team wallet where this subscription is applied.
    • No — discount applies for all payment methods (personal wallet, bank card, MobilePay, Vipps, team wallet, and others).

Plan details and settings

  1. Write a detailed description of the services you offer.
  2. State the exact terms of the subscription plan.
  3. Include a contract URL and a support email (strongly recommended).
  4. Select whether to manually approve subscriptions or let them activate automatically.
  5. Select when the subscription payment is charged to the customer.
  6. Select whether customers can cancel the subscription themselves or must contact you.
  7. Click Create and wait for the plan to be approved by Monta.

How a plan is activated

After saving, your Flat fee plan is sent for review by a Monta Customer Success Manager.

  • While under review, the plan shows as Pending.
  • Once approved, the plan shows as Active and you can begin applying it to teams.

Apply a Flat fee plan to a team

Only operator-level users with Admin or Manager rights can apply and approve custom subscriptions.

  1. Find the team in Monta Hub and click the quick actions menu.
  2. Select Apply Subscription.
  3. Select the correct plan from the drop-down menu and click Apply Subscription.
    • If the plan is set to auto-approve, the subscription shows as Active immediately.
    • If manual approval is required, continue to the next section.

Approve a Flat fee subscription

  1. Find the team and hover over the team subscription link.
  2. Click the pending subscription to open it.
  3. Click Approve:
    • You can set a custom date for the first payment.
    • You can upload the signed contract with the client.
  4. Click Approve subscription. The subscription is now active and the monthly plan price is charged from the team wallet each month on the purchase date.
