What are account features?
In the new Hub, accounts no longer have separate "types" for things like fleet operations. Instead, every Private or Professional account has a set of individual feature toggles that you turn on or off depending on what the account needs. This makes it possible to combine capabilities — for example, an account can have both Fleet and Roaming enabled at the same time, which wasn't possible when these were fixed account types.
Where to manage account features
You can set features in two places:
- When creating an account: in the create-account wizard, after choosing the account type and entering account details, the final step lets you select the account's features before you submit.
- After creation: open the account (Accounts → select the account), go to the Features section of the account's Settings card, and toggle features on or off at any time.
Changes to features on the Settings card take effect immediately and don't require creating a new account.
Available features
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fleet | Turns on fleet management for the account — manage fleet vehicles and drivers, and track vehicle-level charging activity. |
| Vehicles | Enables the Vehicles list and vehicle records for the account, so vehicles can be added, tracked, and (with Fleet) assigned to drivers. |
| Roaming | Allows the account's charge points and/or drivers to use Monta's roaming network (OCPI), so drivers can charge at partner networks and/or the account's charge points can accept roaming sessions. |
| Load balancing | Enables dynamic load balancing for the account's charge points, so available power is distributed automatically across chargers at a site. |
| Advanced members | Unlocks more granular member management for the account, beyond the base Owner / Admin / Member roles. |
| Reimbursed charging (sponsored charging) | Lets the account sponsor charging costs for its members — for example, reimbursing employees or drivers for charging done on their own charge points or at public locations. |
| Terminals | Enables payment terminal support for the account, so a physical payment terminal can be used to start and pay for a charging session. |
Enabling or disabling a feature
- Go to Accounts and open the account you want to change.
- On the account detail page, open the Settings card.
- Under Features, toggle the feature you want to enable or disable.
- The change is saved automatically — you'll see a confirmation once it's updated.
If you manage several accounts, you can also select multiple accounts from the Accounts list and bulk-enable or bulk-disable a feature across all of them at once, instead of updating each account individually.
Related setting: Operator account
The Operator account toggle (found under Invitation settings on the same Settings card) is a separate setting from the features above — it's not about what the account can do, but about who manages it. Turning it on makes the account one that the operator manages directly: charging revenue goes straight into the operator's wallet instead of being settled with a separate customer, and the account inherits the operator's pricing.
