Switch a team between Private and Professional in Monta Hub, and learn what you need to clear first — company details, subscriptions, invoices and sponsored charging.

In Monta Hub you can change an account's type between Private and Professional. The type affects how the account is taxed, billed and configured, so the change runs through a dedicated flow with a readiness check. Personal accounts can't be changed — that control is locked for them.

Where to change the account type

  1. Go to Accounts and open the account.
  2. Open the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll to Danger zone and find Change account type. It shows the account's current type next to the button.
  4. Select Change account type. A dialog opens showing the current type, the type you're switching to, and a readiness checklist.

The button is disabled for personal accounts — those belong to a single person and can't be transferred, changed, or deleted.

What you need to clear first

The dialog lists five checks. Any row marked "Action needed" blocks the switch; each has an Open link that jumps straight to where you fix it:

  • Company details — to become Professional, the account needs its company name, address, postal code, city and country, because Professional accounts issue VAT invoices in their own name. The checklist names exactly which fields are still missing.
  • Subscriptions — plans are sold per account type. If the account is on a subscription that isn't valid for the new type, cancel or switch it first.
  • Open invoicing requests — an invoicing request still awaiting a decision blocks leaving Professional. Approve or reject it first.
  • Active reimbursement — active sponsored (reimbursed) charge points block moving from Private to Professional. Remove the reimbursement first.
  • Pinned account template — if the account has a pinned operator account template, it overrides the type so the change wouldn't take effect. Unpin it first.

Once every row shows "Cleared", the dialog shows a ready banner and the Change to Private/Professional button becomes available.

Good to know

  • Charges, invoices and wallet transactions already created keep the tax treatment they had at the time — nothing is changed retroactively.
  • After the switch, the account's default price groups, fees and modules are re-applied from the operator's template for the new type.
  • Eligibility for sponsored (reimbursed) charging changes with the type.
  • Plan eligibility and subscription coverage are re-evaluated against the new type.
  • Paid subscriptions are never cancelled automatically — if one is in the way, the switch stays blocked until you resolve it yourself.
  • If something starts blocking between opening the dialog and confirming, the change is rejected and the checklist refreshes to show the current reason.
