How do I use Autocharge?
Learn how to set up and use Autocharge so you can start charging your electric vehicle by simply plugging in — no app or RFID card needed.
Autocharge lets you start charging by plugging in your car — no app interaction or RFID card needed. It requires a supported charge point and a compatible car. Not all cars and charging stations support Autocharge; it requires digital communication support (ISO 15118) on both ends.
Step 1: Add your car to your Monta account
All you need is the brand, model, and plug type. Car integration is not required for Autocharge.
- Go to Me and tap + Add car.
- Select the brand and model of your car.
- At the integration step, tap Maybe later — integration is not needed for Autocharge.
- Select the connector type of your car.
- Set the battery charge limit.
- Name your car and tap Save.
Step 2: Find charge points that support Autocharge
Use the Monta map filters to find charge points with Autocharge support.
- Open the Map tab and tap the filter icon.
- At the top, select the car with a CCS cable.
- Scroll to the bottom and toggle on the Autocharge filter.
- Tap an available charge point — those with Autocharge show an Autocharge label.
Step 3: Enable Autocharge
Autocharge is enabled by starting a session on a supported charge point. You must plug in your cable first — if you pay through Monta Charge without plugging in first, the system cannot detect your car's compatibility.
- Plug your car cable into the charge point.
- You will immediately see on screen whether your car supports Autocharge.
- Tap Tell me more.
- Read how Autocharge works, then tap Activate Autocharge.
- Review the confirmation details:
- Confirm your payment method — only a bank card is accepted.
- If you have a card saved in your Monta Wallet, it will be suggested.
- If not, follow the on-screen steps to add a card.
- Tap Activate Autocharge.
- Autocharge is now enabled for this car.
- Autocharge is enabled per car. If you have more than one car, enable it separately for each.
Step 4: Charge with Autocharge
- Confirm Autocharge is enabled for your car.
- Find a charge point with an Autocharge label.
- Plug in your car — charging starts automatically.
Step 5: Manage Autocharge
- Go to Me and tap your car to open its settings.
- Select Autocharge.
- You can switch the bank card used for Autocharge payments.
- You can temporarily disable Autocharge using the toggle.
- If you lend your car to someone else, disable Autocharge to prevent the other driver from using your card.
- If needed, you can remove Autocharge entirely.
