This article covers how to invite members to a Team, manage their roles and permissions, set pricing, apply fees, and remove members.

Invite a user to a Team

If you want to share access to your charge points or Team Wallet, you need to invite EV drivers to the Team. The people you are inviting do not need to have a Monta account yet. If they already have a Monta account, invite them using the same credentials.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Click on the + sign and select Invite new member.
  3. Select Invite Team member.
  4. Fill in the email or phone number of the person.
  5. Select a Member Group (optional).
  6. Select if they should be a Member or Admin.
  7. Select the Price Group they will pay when using the Team's charge points.
  8. Click Invite.

Bulk invite users to a Team

You can invite multiple users at once. When using the bulk invitation method, all users are added with a Member role. You can edit that in the individual Member settings or by applying a Member Group.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Click on the + sign and select Invite new member.
  3. Select Invite many at once.
  4. Download the template and input the emails of the users.
  5. Upload the template and click Invite. You will receive a confirmation email once the upload is complete.

Accept an invitation to join a Team

To accept the invitation, the newly invited user should follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Teams tab.
  2. Select View Team invitations.
  3. Choose to Join the team.

Share a Team join code with users

You can share the Team code with users who already have a Monta account. They can use the code in Monta Charge to join the Team. You can set the Team to automatically accept anyone who uses a Team code, or manually accept join requests.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Click on the + sign and select Invite new member.
  3. Select Invite with Team code.
  4. Copy the code and share it with the users.

Manage Join Requests

To accept a join request from a user:

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Find the member with the Requested status.
  3. Click on the three dots and select Respond to Join Request.
  4. Click on Accept join request.

Create a Member Price Group

A Member Price Group sets the price that Team Members pay when charging on the Team's charge points. You can create multiple Member Price Groups and apply them to different Team Members.

Important: When a Member Group is applied to a team owner, the rights and permissions of the team owner are overwritten.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Price Groups tab.
  2. Click on Add new and select Member Price Group.
  3. Fill in the price group details: name, price amount, price type, and tariff.
  4. Click Save.

Apply a Member Price Group

You can set a Member Price Group as default so it is always suggested for new Team Members, or assign different price groups to individual members.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Price Groups tab.
  2. Click on Member Price groups.
  3. From the action button, make the Price Group default or apply it to Team Members.
  4. Select the Team Members who need this Price Group and click Save.

Apply a Member Fee

Member fees allow the Team to collect a monthly fee from Team Members' personal Wallets — for example, to cover the cost of a service subscription.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Select one or more Members.
  3. Click on Apply Member fee.
  4. Choose to create a new Member fee or apply an existing one.
  5. Select the fee and click Save.

Create a Member Group

Member Groups let Team Admins apply a set of settings to multiple Team members at once, including permissions, pricing, and wallet access.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Click the + and select New member group.
  3. Write a name and description for the Group.
  4. Fill out the permission settings (see table below).
  5. Review the Member Group permissions and click Save changes.
  6. Click on Add Members to apply the Member Group to Team Members.
Field What does this field do? Comment
Name Give a distinctive name
Description A description to help you recognize the Member Group
User role Select if you want the Member to have admin rights
Member price group Select what price the Member will pay when charging on the Team charge points This is not the same as Sponsored Price group.
Member fee Specify if you want the Member to pay a monthly fee to be part of this Team
Can pay for charging with Team Wallet Specify if the Team Member can use the Wallet balance to pay for charging If off, the Team Member pays with their personal Wallet. You can limit which countries they can pay for charging in.
Can pay with Team Wallet in shop Enable the Member to pay for charge keys, stickers, and other items
Can manage Team Wallet Enable the Member to deposit or withdraw funds from the Team Wallet Recommended only for Admins who manage team finances.
Can configure charge points Enable the Member to update the OCPP configurations of the Team charge points
Can request sponsoring Enable the Member to request to be sponsored by your Team Wallet

Apply wallet restrictions to a Member Group

You can set wallet restrictions for a Member Group so all members within it follow the same allowed countries and operators.

  1. Open your team and go to Members & Access > Member Groups.
  2. Open a group and scroll to Member wallet permissions and payment restrictions.
  3. Define whether members can pay with the Team Wallet, and which countries and operators they can use.
  4. Click Save changes.

If the team has existing operator- or team-level restrictions, those will appear as defaults and can be further limited here.

Allocate charge point access to Team Members

You can restrict the charge point access of Team Members, allowing them to charge only on specific charge points. This applies to both current members and newly invited members still in the Invited state.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members tab.
  2. Select the Team Member.
  3. Use the Search function to find a specific charge point if needed.
  4. From the action button, select Give access.

Remove a Team Member

Only Team Owners and Admins with the right to manage Team Members can remove a user from the Team. Once removed, the member will no longer have access to the Team's charge points or Wallet. If the Team Member is Sponsored, this will stop the Sponsorship and the member will not be able to request again.

  1. Open the Team and go to the Members & Access tab.
  2. Click on the Members tab and select the action button of the member you want to remove.
  3. Select Remove Team member.
  4. Confirm with Yes, remove.
