How does it work?
If you’re interested in using SmartCharging, you need your own home charge point. Monta is compatible with most hardware brands, so SmartCharge works with any model listed here.
Once you have a charge point, you need to install the Monta app on your phone. Then, as soon as your charge point is connected to the internet via SIM or WiFi, you can connect it to Monta and configure it to your EV and charging needs.
How does SmartCharging benefit me?
Energy prices are highly unstable at the moment, and constantly checking the electricity prices to find the best times to charge is unrealistic. You can simply use SmartCharging to automate the process for you. This way you get to:

Once you’ve set up your SmartCharge preferences, Monta comes up with the perfect charge schedule based on your needs. This way, you can charge during off-peak hours at cheaper energy rates (e.g. at night) and help balance the grid, leading to more sustainable energy consumption.
You need to own a charge point in order to use the SmartCharge feature. In case you don’t own one yet, you can buy whichever model fits your needs best as Monta integrates with most hardware brands.
Once you have a smart charge point, the next step is downloading and installing our app on your smartphone. Then, Monta will allow you to connect your charger to the internet and configure it to work with your specific EV and charging schedule.
SmartCharging, like any other Monta feature in the app, is free. You only need to connect your charge point(s) to Monta and configure your SmartCharge preferences in the app.
It is not a requirement to activate SmartCharging to use the other features in the app, but we believe it is an efficient way for you to charge cheaper, greener, and smarter. All you need is a charge point and the Monta app to start using the feature.
