Apply a price group to accounts, lists and more (bulk apply)

Apply a price group to many charge points at once — whole accounts, saved lists, member groups, sites or selected EVSEs — including operator-owned global price groups, across all price group types.

Help Center / Monta Hub / Charge Points / Pricing & Access / Apply a price group to accounts, lists and more (bulk apply)

Apply a price group to many charge points at once — whole accounts, saved lists, member groups, sites or selected EVSEs — including operator-owned global price groups, across all price group types.

You can apply a price group to many charge points at once — a whole account, a saved list, a member group, a site, or hand-picked EVSEs — instead of setting them one by one. This includes your operator-owned (global) price groups, which previously could only be added to charge points individually or as a default for brand-new accounts.

You'll find it on any price group under Apply to.

What you can apply a price group to

Target What happens
Charge points (EVSEs) The selected chargers get the price group.
Sites The chargers at the selected sites get the price group.
Accounts Every charge point of the selected account(s) gets the price group — the fast way to price a whole customer.
Members / member groups Applies to the selected members.
Lists Applies to everything in a saved list — resolved for you, however large the list is.

You can combine targets in one action — for example a saved list of chargers and a couple of whole accounts.

Which price you're setting depends on the price group type

A charge point holds several prices at the same time, and a price group only sets the one that matches its type. Applying a price group never touches the other slots:

Price group type What applying it sets
Public The price drivers pay to charge — the public/default price.
Cost Your electricity cost as the operator (used for margin and reporting). Re-applying can recalculate the cost on affected charges.
Roaming The price roaming drivers (coming from another network) pay.
Reimbursement Pricing on reimbursed (employer-paid) charge points. Applies to reimbursed charge points only — not to sites or members.

So one charge point can have a public, a cost and a roaming price group all at once, and a bulk apply changes only the slot for the type you picked. It's also why the confirmation summary counts EVSEs "already on" this price group by its own type — a cost or roaming group reads its own count, not the public one.

Operator (global) vs account price groups

  • An operator-owned (global) price group can be applied across all your accounts, including those belonging to your sub-operators.
  • A price group owned by a single account applies to that account's own charge points.
  • You can only apply to charge points and accounts you manage — anything outside your reach is skipped automatically.

How a bulk apply runs

Applying to a handful of chargers happens immediately. Applying to whole accounts or large lists — which can be thousands of charge points — runs as a background job, so you don't have to keep the page open.

  • You get a message in your Hub inbox when the apply starts and again when it finishes, so you can close the tab and come back to the result.
  • Each part of a mixed selection runs on its own and reports its own progress, so nothing fails silently.
  • Progress counts only the charge points you can actually reach.

Review before you apply

Before a whole-account apply is sent, Hub shows a confirmation summary so you can see the shape of the change, not just a single number:

  • One row per selected account — its name, a bar, and how many EVSEs it holds — sorted by size, with a "+ N more accounts" line when there are many.
  • Each bar shows how many EVSEs are moving onto the price group versus how many are already on it, so you don't double-count.
  • Individually-picked charge points get their own row (they may already sit inside a selected account, so they can't simply be added together).

Applying by list

Pick a saved list and apply the price group to its members. The full membership is resolved for you on the server, so even very large lists apply completely — there's no silent cut-off.

Undoing an apply

An apply can be reverted, returning the affected charge points to their previous price group.

Good to know

  • You can apply to up to 500 accounts in a single action. For more, run it in batches.
  • Cost and roaming price groups show their own "already applied" counts, separate from public price groups.
  • Applying a price group doesn't change any charge that has already started.

Availability

Bulk apply for operator (global) price groups is being switched on for operators. If you don't see the Apply to options on a global price group yet, contact Monta support from your Hub.
