Understanding Monta pricing types
Explains the pricing models available in Monta Hub — free, fixed, dynamic, price group, and hourly tariff — and when to use each.
Monta offers several pricing models for charge points. This article explains each type and when to use it.
Pricing types overview
Free
No charge to the driver. Sessions start without payment. Use this for employee benefits, internal fleets, or trial periods.
Fixed price
A flat rate per kWh or per session. The price does not change. Use this for simple, predictable pricing.
Dynamic price
The price follows electricity spot prices or a custom formula. The driver sees the current price before starting. Use this to pass electricity costs to the driver in real time.
Price Group
A shared pricing configuration applied to multiple charge points. When you update the Price Group, all connected charge points update automatically. Use this for multi-site operators or uniform pricing across a fleet.
Hourly tariff
A time-based rate added on top of the energy price. Use this for parking or time-limited charging slots.
How to choose
- Simple and fixed? Use Fixed price.
- Pass electricity costs directly? Use Dynamic price.
- Manage many charge points at once? Use a Price Group.
- Charge for parking time? Add an Hourly tariff.
