Background
Mr Charger is a UK-nationwide OZEV-approved solutions provider, offering a turnkey service for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. From domestic to commercial installations, including groundworks, management, and ongoing maintenance, Mr Charger delivers a 360° experience. Their primary focus lies in managing the full lifecycle of charge points - especially in multi-family residential developments, from installation through to long-term service and support.
With the rise in demand driven by Part S Building Regulations, developers must now install EV charge points in all new homes with parking. Mr Charger steps in post-construction to bridge the gap between property developers and management companies - ensuring charge points are properly commissioned, maintained, and fully operational for residents and visitors.
The challenge: Limitations with previous CPMS providers
Before partnering with Monta, Mr Charger faced significant obstacles with previous charge point management system (CPMS) providers, including:
- Limited self-service: restricted ability to manage clients independently - often requiring third-party support, which reduced their ability to be agile and efficient, especially when issues arose.
- Slow, manual onboarding: The process involved manual form-filling, back-and-forth communication, and external management, which delayed deployments.

Real-world results: Westminster case study
In one standout project in Westminster, London, Mr Charger inherited a residential block with non-functional basement chargers. Despite quality electrical work by contractors, there was no network connectivity or software setup in place.
