Reimbursement

Home charging reimbursement, ready to add without building it

home reimbursment 2

Operators add a reimbursement product to their portfolio and offer it to fleet customers as an ongoing service. Monta handles the cost capture, payouts, and reporting underneath.

Reimbursement by hand does not scale. It just gets messier.

Done manually

Employees email receipts, someone checks each electricity cost, and payouts run through spreadsheets. Every new client multiplies the admin.

Run on Monta

Each session is captured at an approved rate, routed for approval, and settled through the wallet. Adding a client is a setup step, not a new process.

How it works

From home charge to payout in four steps

Reimbursement runs end to end on Monta, from the driver’s request to a settled payout, with rates always under control.

Step 1

Onboard the client

Each employer’s employees and home chargers are added as Teams in the operator’s Monta account.

Step 2

Costs are captured

Each employee requests reimbursement in the app, sharing their real electricity cost, fixed or spot price.

Step 3

Rates stay in control

Every reimbursement runs on an approved rate. Depending on the setup, that rate is controlled by the operator or the client, never an estimate.

Step 4

Payouts and settlement, automated

Every home session is reimbursed through the Monta wallet, with a full record on both sides.

Built to run reimbursement at scale

Quick client onboarding

Each employer’s home chargers are organised into their own Teams, so a new client is set up quickly.

Audit-ready by default

Every home session is recorded with its electricity cost and approval trail, so reimbursements reconcile cleanly for finance, payroll, and ERP.

An ongoing service line

Operators can offer reimbursement as a paid service and set their own pricing, for example per charger, per employee, or per month.

Cost capture and payouts, handled

Monta handles the cost capture and payout logic, including support for local government subsidy schemes such as Norway’s strømstøtte where they apply, so operators launch the service without building it from scratch.

Manage every reimbursement from one place

Monta Hub provides one view of every reimbursement: approve requests, search by charge point or address, sign off on electricity cost changes, and track reimbursed spend per team. Home reimbursement sits alongside public and roaming costs in a single breakdown.

FAQs

Each employer’s employees and home chargers are added as Teams in the operator’s Monta account, then costs, payouts, and reporting are managed from one place. It runs as a service the operator provides.

Either way works. The operator can own the Teams and report to clients, or each client can be set up as its own account that the operator manages on its behalf. The exact setup is agreed during onboarding.

When the operator owns the Teams, funds settle to the operator, who then bills clients. When the client owns the account, funds settle to the client directly. The setup is chosen per client during onboarding.

Operators can offer reimbursement as a paid service and set their own pricing, for example per charger, per employee, or per month, turning it into an ongoing service line rather than an internal cost.

Any personal home charge point connected to Monta. Because Monta is hardware-agnostic over OCPP, it works across all major charger brands.

Every session is reimbursed at the approved electricity rate, a fixed price per kWh or a live spot price with tariffs. Where local subsidy schemes such as Norway’s strømstøtte apply, they can be reflected in the reimbursed amount.
