Share whether a charging site runs on green energy, its source split and supplier, in Monta Hub. Shared with roaming partners and via the Partner API.

The energy mix describes the electricity supplied to a charging site: whether it's green, which sources it comes from (for example 80% wind and 20% solar), and who supplies it. You add it per charging site in Monta Hub. Monta shares it with roaming partners and makes it available through the Partner API.
Why add the energy mix?
- Drivers and fleets ask. Many drivers choose electric to cut emissions, and many companies must report the emissions of their fleet's charging. A documented renewable supply answers the question before it's asked.
- Stand out on roaming networks. Roaming partners get the energy mix with your location data and can show it in their apps, for example as a green-energy label.
- Consistent data everywhere. Enter it once in Monta Hub and the same information goes to every roaming partner and your own integrations.
- Sustainability reporting. Structured energy data supports your own and your customers' sustainability reporting.
How to add the energy mix
- Go to Chargers and select Charging sites.
- Open the site and select Details.
- Under Energy source and supplier, fill in the fields below.
- Click Save.
What you can enter
- Green energy: whether the site is supplied entirely from renewable sources.
- Energy sources: each source and its share in percent. Sources follow the OCPI roaming standard: solar, wind, water (hydro), general green, nuclear, coal, gas and general fossil.
- Supplier name: the company that supplies the electricity.
- Energy product name: the name of the tariff or product, for example a green electricity product from your supplier.
- Environmental impact (optional): carbon dioxide and nuclear waste per kWh, if your supplier provides these figures.
Where the energy mix is shared
- Roaming partners: sent through OCPI as the location's energy mix, so partner apps and maps can display it.
- Partner API: available on the site for your own apps, websites and reporting.
Good to know
- Percentages should add up to 100%. Monta checks that each source is between 0% and 100%, but not that they add up. Check the total before you save.
- Only mark green energy if it's 100% renewable. Use the source split to describe a partly renewable supply.
- It's informational. The energy mix doesn't change prices, smart charging or how charge points behave.
- Keep it current. Update the energy mix when you change supplier or electricity product.
