StarCharge Integration Guide

Integration guide for StarCharge units. Covers adjusting PC network settings to access the charge point's local web interface, configuring Wi-Fi and Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) settings, and connecting to Monta.

For: Installers and charge point operators setting up StarCharge with Monta.

This is a guide that shows how to install Monta on your charge point. If you want to connect your charge point to your Monta account, please follow the steps in the end of the guide.

Please note that when you connect your charge point to Monta, we become the operator of the charge point. This means that you need to use Monta to control the charging process.

1. Prerequisites

Disclaimer! You need to download this certificate to the device that you will use to configure the charge point. You will need it during this installation process.

2. Change your network settings

Here you need to change the network settings of your computer, according to the charge point's local IP.

To do so, click on the Internet icon in the bottom-right corner of your computer screen. From there, open the "Network & Internet Settings" of your device.

3. Select "Change adapter options"

Select "Change adapter options", located in the Advanced networks settings.

4. Right-click on "Ethernet adapter" and select "Properties"

Once you enter the "Change adapter options", find the Ethernet adapter, right-click on it, and select "Properties".

5. Find and select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/iPv4)"

In "Ethernet Properties", find the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/iPv4), click on it, and press "Properties".

6. Select and fill out "Use the following IP addresses"

Once you are there, select "Use the following IP addresses", if not selected, and enter the values as following:

IP address: 192.168.88.200

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default gateway: 192.168.88.1

After putting in the values, click on "OK" and close the window.

7. Open your browser to 192.168.88.206

Open a browser on your computer, type 192.168.88.206 and click "Enter".

You will be prompted to login, use these credentials:

User name: xxcd

Password: 28912891

8. Change "Hardware settings"

Navigate to "Hardware settings" and change the "ChargePointID" to the serial number of thecharge point.You can find the serial number on a label which is attached to the right side of the charge point.

Click "Submit".

9. Adjust "Software settings"

Now go down to "Software Settings" and find WiFi configuration.

Tick off "Wifi enable".

From the "Mode selection" drop down menu, choose "STA".

SSID: *your exact WiFi name*

Password: *your WiFi password*

From the "Encryption" drop down menu, choose "WPA2".

10. Upload the certificate for the charge point

In the same section, find the "Certificate Import" field, select "Browse" and find the previous file you have downloaded (see Prerequisites).

Upload the file by clicking "Submit".

11. Configure OCPP settings

In the same section find the "OCPP Part" and input the following:

URL: ocpp.monta.app

Port: 443

SSL_On: 1

Click on "Submit".

12. Connecting the charge point to your Monta account

Now you need to add and connect your charge point to your Monta account.

You can do this through either Monta Charge or Monta Hub.
