Inbound roaming means drivers from other charging networks can use your charge points. This article explains how it works when Monta operates your charge points as a CPO.

How inbound roaming works

1. A driver from another network arrives at your charge point.
2. They authenticate using their home network app or charge key.
3. Their network (EMSP) sends an authorisation request to Monta via OCPI.
4. Monta checks the driver is valid and starts the session.
5. When the session ends, Monta sends the session data back to the driver's network.
6. The driver's network bills the driver. Monta settles the fee with you.

Pricing for roaming drivers

You set the price that roaming drivers pay. This is separate from the price your own team members pay.

To set roaming pricing: go to Charge points → select a charge point → Pricing & access → configure the Roaming price.

Settlement

Monta collects payment from the roaming driver's network and pays you according to the agreed settlement schedule. A platform fee applies.
