Please note that when you connect your charge point to Monta, we become the operator of the charge point. This means that you need to use Monta to control the charging process.
1. Notes
Firmware note:
In order to successfully connect your charge point to Monta, you need to have firmware 1.1.502 or newer. If your charge point has an older firmware version, you need to update it.
In this guide you will learn how to find and update the firmware version of your charge point.
Installation note:
If your charge point has been integrated with another backend, it needs to be reset manually by pressing the reset button for five seconds. The reset button is located inside the charge point, next to the blinking red LED light.
2. Download the EVSE Mesh app on yout device
On your device, navigate to the AppStore or Google Play and download the EVSE Mesh app to begin the setup of your charge point.
Before you begin, make sure to switch on the Bluetooth on your device.
3. Login to the app
Login to the app, using the following credentials:
Select Operator
Country: China + 86
Phone number: 17722447031
Password: 447031
Select OCPP Platform
4. Select “Device distribution network management”
5. Proceed to add your charge point
Once you go into the “Device distribution network management”, you will see an empty “Charge group list”.
Click on “Add New Group”, followed by “Add New Charger”.
6. Find the charge point by Bluetooth connection
If your device has Bluetooth switched on, your charge point should appear in the list here. Select it by clicking on the charge point serial number.
Then, the screen on the right will appear and both fields will be automatically filled in. Click on “Add”.
7. Enter Group Name and Wi-Fi
On this page, enter the Group Name, where your charge point is going to be.
Underneath, enter your Wi-Fi credentials, as name and password.
8. Wait for the charge point to connect
Your charge point is now going to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Wait until the process is completed and all 4 statements are checked in green.
9. Check the firmware version of the charge point
As mentioned in the beginning of this guide, you need to confirm that you have an updated version of the firmware, in order to connect to the Monta app. On the main screen, click on your charge point.
Here, you will see the firmware version.
The version needs to be 1.1.502 or higher. If the firmware is older, you need to update it.
To update your firmware version, please contact the AutoAid support team at info@autoaid.de, stating the serial number of your charge point. After the firmware has been updated, reboot the charge point and then you will be able to connect your charge point to Monta.
10. Open the server information
Once the charge point is connected, click on “Settings” in the bottom left corner.
From the settings menu, select “Server information.”.
11. Navigate to “OCPP Platform”
In Account Server, click on “OCPP platform”.
Then, select it again, to open the OCPP platform details.
12. Fill out the information fields
In here, fill out the following information:
IP/Domain: ocpp.monta.app
Port: 443
Path: *leave empty*
Protocol type: WSS
Proceed to click on “Confirm”.
13. Connecting the charge point to your Monta account
Now you need to add and connect your charge point to your Monta account.
You can do this through either Monta Charge or Monta Hub.
14. Troubleshooting
If you are not able to connect your charge point to Monta, please check if you have filled in the correct information in Server information in the EVSE Mesh app (step 10).
We also suggest resetting the charge point by manually by pressing the reset button for five seconds. The reset button is located inside the charge point, next to the blinking red LED light.
After you have reset the charge point, go over the process in the EVSE Mesh app again.
When you have completed the setup in the EVSE Mesh app, try to connect your charge point to Monta through the Monta app or Portal.
