Hardware compatibility

A software partner for the hardware you run

Compatible with hundreds of charging station models and integrations added when an operator brings something we don’t yet support. Your team has the logs and diagnostics, with Monta hardware experts escalating to manufacturers when needed.

Seven product panels showcase electrical hardware brands: Schneider Electric, Hydro Bath, Goose, Anpure, Siemens, and RolecEV, against a dark background.

FAQs

At Monta, we love all our hardware brands equally and are hardware agnostic. See what’s supported on our supported charging stations page. Here we transparently allow you to sort by supported features, performance, charge success, or uptime so anyone can see what models are currently performing best.

Yes, with select manufacturers. Monta’s Hardware Track gives partners real-time visibility and operational data on their charging stations in the field. Manufacturers interested in this track can contact our sales team.

Monta supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1, plus OCPI for roaming.

We always recommend starting with our supported list for the fastest, most reliable experience. When an operator brings existing hardware that isn’t supported (migrations, acquisitions), we’ll integrate it as part of your work with Monta.

Yes. If your charging stations are on the supported list and support OCPP, the migration is a software switch. If something isn’t supported yet, we integrate it as part of the migration.

Yes, we’ve published integration guides here for top hardware brands and models.

A small number of closed-ecosystem legacy players choose to lock their hardware to their own software, or don’t speak OCPP at all. See what brands we integrate with on the supported charging stations page.

For OCPP 1.6, sometimes the base specification is not sufficient. To improve functionality and interoperability, Monta has full or partial support for the following extensions to the protocol:

– Improved security for OCPP 1.6-J edition 4
– Using ISO 15118 Plug & Charge with OCPP 1.6 v1.0
– OCPP & California Pricing Requirements v3.1
– Signed Meter Values in OCPP v1.0

These extensions are available as white papers and application notes from the Open Charge Alliance.

Your team can investigate from the OCPP logs directly. If you need help, raise a ticket and Monta support investigates with the same logs plus Monta-wide visibility. Hardware-rooted issues get escalated to the manufacturer by our hardware experts that have direct relationships with them.
