Tariff pricing built as network infrastructure
As a charge point operator, are you charging every driver the same price?
Fleet drivers, hotel guests, employees, and public users have different relationships with your network, with different willingness to pay. Monta’s tariff engine is built as network infrastructure: define your pricing rules once in Monta Hub and the platform enforces the right price at every session, across every site, at any scale.
One fixed tariff fits no one. It just costs you margin.
Without Monta
Same kWh rate for every driver regardless of who they are or how they access the network
With Monta
Price groups let you run public, member, roaming and partner rates on the same charger simultaneously
Without Monta
Fixed tariff absorbs every electricity price spike directly into your margin with no mechanism to respond
With Monta
Spot pricing automatically tracks market rates with a configurable margin on top, no manual updates needed
Without Monta
8am and 2am earn exactly the same, demand peaks are missed and revenue is left on the table
With Monta
Peak, off-peak and overnight rates set on a schedule, applied automatically across your entire network
Without Monta
No floor on prices when spot rates spike — your margin is exposed with no automatic protection
With Monta
Price floor and ceiling protects margin during electricity spikes while passing savings to drivers when prices are low
Without Monta
Charger sits occupied after a session ends with no revenue consequence and no way to recover availability
With Monta
Per-minute idle fee kicks in automatically once charging completes, recovering availability without manual enforcement
Without Monta
Each partner negotiation means a new manual pricing process, tracked separately and prone to errors
With Monta
Assign a negotiated rate to a partner once — applied automatically to every session they initiate across your network

Every dimension of your tariff strategy, managed from one place
Turn pricing complexity into automated infrastructure
Configure once. The right price applies every time, everywhere.
Monta’s tariff engine operates as core pricing infrastructure for your network. At session start, it resolves the correct price based on who’s charging, which charge point they’re on, and which access rules apply. Simultaneously, across every site in your estate. No manual calculation. No reconciliation. No exceptions, whether you operate 10 charge points or 10,000.
Design your tariff structure
Create price groups for each segment — public, member, fleet, partner. Configure each: fixed kWh, spot-linked, time of use schedule, or a combination. Via Hub or API.
Preview revenue before going live
Use the tariff simulator to model what your price structure would earn against real historical session data. Adjust and compare before committing.
Assign to chargers and users
Attach each price group to the right charge points and access groups. A single charger can serve guests, staff, and a contracted fleet simultaneously — each at their own rate.
Monta runs it from here
Every session is priced correctly at start — no manual calculation, no exceptions. Spot rates updated automatically. Time of use schedules fire on time. Across every site, every day.

FAQs
Yes. Price groups let you run multiple rates on a single charge point simultaneously; public, member, fleet, partner, and roaming each get their own rate. The right one is resolved automatically at session start based on who the driver is and how they accessed the charge point. No manual decision required.
Spot-linked pricing tracks the real-time electricity spot market and adds your configured margin on top. You set a price floor so your margin is always protected during spikes, and a ceiling so drivers are not overcharged during extreme market moves. The engine updates automatically, you do not need to monitor or adjust pricing manually.
Both. You can define tariffs that apply network-wide, or configure different price groups per site, per charge point group, or per individual charge point. Network-wide changes propagate instantly. Site-level overrides let you account for local energy costs, demand patterns, or commercial agreements without affecting the rest of the network.
Changes apply immediately to new sessions. Sessions already in progress are not affected, they complete at the rate that was active when the session started. There is no propagation delay across sites; the update is network-wide at the moment you save it.
Yes. You can create discounted price groups and assign them to specific access groups, apply time-limited promotional rates, or configure free charging windows using the schedule feature. Promotions are configured once and applied automatically, no manual session overrides required.
Idle fees apply to charge points that support post-charge status reporting via OCPP. You configure the per-minute rate and the grace period length. The grace period is a fee-free window after charging ends, drivers have time to unplug normally before the fee starts. This means the idle fee targets deliberate overstaying, not a slow walk back to the car.
Your pricing should work like infrastructure, not a spreadsheet
Define your pricing rules once. Monta enforces the right price at every session, across every site, for every driver type.
