How do I schedule changes or request approvals in Monta Hub?

Help Center / Monta Hub / Charge Points / How do I schedule changes or request approvals in Monta Hub?

For: Operator users in Monta Hub with Admin, Manager, or Member access

Change requests let you defer a configuration edit instead of applying it immediately. Use them to:

  • Schedule a change for later — set a future date and time for a price update, EVSE configuration change, or EVSE state toggle to take effect automatically
  • Request approval — submit a change for an operator admin to review before it applies (requires Allow non-admin change requests to be enabled)

Where change requests are available

You can create a change request from three places in Monta Hub:

  • The price group editor — schedule a price change to take effect at a specific date and time
  • The EVSE Pricing & Access tab — schedule pricing or visibility configuration changes on a specific charging station
  • The EVSE remote actions menu — schedule or request approval for activate, deactivate, maintenance on, and maintenance off actions

Schedule a change for later

Admins and managers can schedule changes directly.

  1. Open the price group or EVSE you want to change.
  2. Edit the setting you want to update.
  3. In the save bar, click the dropdown arrow next to Save and select Schedule for later.
  4. Pick the date and time when the change should apply.
  5. Confirm.

The change is saved as pending and applies automatically at the scheduled time. A notification pill appears in the item editor until the change runs.

Request approval (non-admin members)

If your operator has enabled change request approvals, members without edit rights can submit a proposed change for an admin to review.

  1. Open the price group or EVSE you want to change.
  2. Edit the setting you want to propose.
  3. In the save bar, select Request approval.
  4. Optionally set a date and time for when the change should apply after it is approved.
  5. Confirm.

The request waits for an operator admin to approve or reject it. If approved, it applies with the approver's permissions.

View and manage change requests

Go to Operations > Change requests in the left navigation.

  • Operator admins see a role-aware view with pending approval requests to act on.
  • All members can see their own submitted changes and their current status.

You can filter change requests by entity or status.

Approve or reject a change request (admins only)

  1. Go to Operations > Change requests.
  2. Find the pending request.
  3. Select Approve or Reject.

Approved requests apply with the approver's permissions at the scheduled time — or immediately if no time was set. Rejected requests are closed and will not apply.

You can also approve or reject directly from the notification pill on the affected item.

Cancel or withdraw a change

You can cancel a scheduled or pending-approval change at any time before it runs.

  • From the item editor: select Cancel scheduled change (for a scheduled change) or Withdraw request (for an unapproved request) in the notification pill.
  • From Operations > Change requests: select Cancel on the relevant row.

Once a change has started applying, it cannot be cancelled.

Change request statuses

Status Meaning
Pending Scheduled and waiting to apply at the set time
Pending approval Submitted and waiting for an operator admin to approve
Applying Currently being processed
Applied Successfully applied
Failed Could not apply — for example, the item was deleted or a validation rule changed
Rejected Rejected by an admin — will not apply
Cancelled Cancelled before it ran

Enable change request approvals (admin setting)

By default, only admins and managers can schedule changes directly. To let non-admin members submit changes for approval:

  1. Go to Account & Settings in the left navigation.
  2. Open the General tab.
  3. Under Change request approvals, turn on Allow non-admin change requests.

This option is only visible if your operator has the feature enabled. Contact support if you do not see it.
