For: Charge point owners using Monta Charge in Denmark, Sweden, UK, or Ireland

Grid Services is a Monta service that supports grid stability. In return, you get access to Home+ features on your home charge point.

Grid Services is available for charge points in Denmark, Sweden, the UK, and Ireland.

If your charge point is in Denmark East (DK2), it is automatically enrolled in Grid Services. To opt out, follow the steps in "Stop participating in Grid Services" below.

You can check if your charge point brand supports Grid Services on the supported charge points list.

From 11 May 2026, Grid Services no longer pays out Monta credits for participation. Instead, joining Grid Services unlocks Home+ features on your charge point. Existing wallet balances remain available for charging.

What does Grid Services unlock?

Joining Grid Services gives you access to Home+ features on your home charge point. You do not need grid-service compatible hardware to use Home+ when you join Grid Services.

Home+ features included

  • Vehicle integration and SolarCharge
  • Dynamic fuse protection and Home API access
  • Load balancing via Monta Control
  • 0% transaction fees on charging
  • Peak Protection

Do I still earn credits for Grid Services?

From 11 May 2026, you no longer earn Monta credits for participating in Grid Services.

Any credits you earned before this date stay in your wallet and can be used for charging.

To view your wallet balance:

  1. Open Monta Charge.
  2. Open the wallet from the main menu.
  3. Review your balance and past transactions.

Why did my charging pause?

When the electricity grid needs flexibility, Grid Services can pause or slow down charging on your charge point for a while. You see a message in Monta Charge while this is happening.

Most pauses are short, often around 15 minutes, but some last longer. Charging resumes automatically when the pause ends.

Questions about when pauses happen? Contact your operator. If you don't want your charging paused at all, you can leave Grid Services (see below).
