How do I use Deep links in Monta Hub?

How solution providers can create, connect, search, and export deeplinks for charge points in Monta, enabling EV drivers to start charges by scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC tag.

For: Solution providers managing deeplinks for charge points in Monta Hub.

The Deep link Management System lets you create custom deep links for charge points so EV drivers can start charging by scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC tag. You can also manage deep links already paired with QR stickers — without being physically present at the site.

For drivers to scan and charge, the charge point must be added to your Monta account, connected to Monta's backend, and set to public visibility.

You can create up to 500 deep links at a time. After creation, you will receive an email with a CSV file containing the link details.

  1. Click Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Click the action button and select + Add new.
  3. Enter the number of links needed and add a comment if required.
  4. Click Create.

Need a QR code right away? Each deep link has its own URL. Until your printed Monta stickers arrive, you can paste the URL into any free online QR code generator to create a working QR code. Scanning it will open the same deep link — but the image itself will look different from Monta's branded printed sticker. Use this as a temporary workaround for testing or interim signage; replace with the printed Monta sticker once it arrives.

  1. Click Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Click the action button for the deep link and select See details.
  3. Find and select the charge point.
  4. Select which information to show when the QR sticker is scanned:
    • You can hide the start charging button.
    • You can hide that there is an active charge on the charge point.
  5. Add a comment about the pairing if relevant (for example, site or user details).
  6. Click Update.

If you have ordered QR stickers from the Monta shop, you can pair them to charge points remotely.

  1. Click Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Click the action button and select Find deep link.
  3. Scan the QR code with a device and enter the URL in the field.
  4. Click Select.

Use the search bar on the Deep links page and enter the slug of the deep link to locate it quickly when managing a large number of links.

To see all deeplinks and which charge points are paired to them, open the Deeplinks section and click Export. A CSV file will be sent to your email.

How do I use deep links in the new Hub?

Available in the new Hub only. The features described below are part of the new Hub experience. Switch from the user menu to access them.

For drivers to scan and charge, the EVSE must be added to your Monta account, connected to Monta's backend, and set to public visibility.

  1. Open the new Monta Hub and select Deep links in the left-side menu.

The Deep links page lists every deep link on your account with its code, URL, note, operator, and current pairing.

Note: The Deep links page is only available to users whose role grants access. If Deep links is missing from your menu — or opening the URL directly sends you back to the home page — ask an operator admin to grant access.

How do I download QR codes?

Need a QR code right away? Each deep link has its own URL. Until your printed Monta stickers arrive, you can paste the URL into any free online QR code generator to create a working QR code. Scanning it will open the same deep link — but the image itself will look different from Monta's branded printed sticker. Use this as a temporary workaround for testing or interim signage; replace with the printed Monta sticker once it arrives.

The new Monta Hub can generate a printable PNG for each deep link and bundle the selected codes into a single zip file. The codes are rendered in your browser — no email is sent.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Use the checkboxes in the first column to select the deep links you want to print.
  3. In the bulk actions bar at the bottom of the page, select Download QR codes.
  4. Your browser downloads a zip file named deeplinks-YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM-SS.zip. Inside, each deep link is a PNG named {code}.png.

File details: PNG format, 512 × 512 pixels, error correction level M. The codes encode the same uniform resource locator (URL) shown in the URL column.

Tip: You can combine the column filters (pairing type, operator) with bulk selection to download QR codes for one location or one batch at a time.

You can create up to 2500 deep links at a time.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Select Add deep links.
  3. Select Create new.
  4. Enter the number of deep links needed and add an optional note.
  5. Select Create.

The new deep links appear in the table once generation finishes. For large batches, the page may show a queued message — refresh after a few seconds.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Find an unpaired deep link and select Pair deep link in the Pairing column. You can also select the deep link's row and use Pair type in the edit panel.
  3. Choose Link to charging station and select the EVSE.
  4. Choose what to show when the QR sticker is scanned:
  • Disable guest user charging — hides the start-now option for users who are not signed in.
  • Hide active charging session details — hides the live session info on the scan page.
  1. Add an optional note (for example, site or sticker location).
  2. Select Save and pair.

Use a custom URL when migrating from another platform — the QR sticker redirects to any URL you choose.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Open the deep link's row.
  3. Set Pair type to Link to custom URL.
  4. Enter the URL and select Save changes.

If you have a pre-printed sticker on site, you can look the deep link up remotely and pair it without physically visiting the EVSE.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Select Add deep links and select Find from sticker.
  3. Paste the URL from the sticker into Deep link URL or code, or type the code (for example, abc123). The new Monta Hub detects the code automatically.
  4. Choose Pair to → Link to charging station or Link to custom URL.
  5. Add an optional note and select Pair this deep link.

You can also assign deep links from a single EVSE's detail page — useful when stickers arrive site by site.

  1. Open Operations → Network in the side menu and select the EVSE.
  2. Open the Deep links tab.
  3. Select Add from sticker.
  4. Paste the sticker URL, type the code, or pick one of the available deep links from the list.
  5. Select Assign to this charging station. To assign more than one in one go, use the multi-select option and select Assign {n} deep link(s).

Assigned deep links appear in the tab's table. Use Unassign in the row menu — or Unassign selected for multiple — to remove the pairing while keeping the deep links available for re-pairing.

Unpairing breaks the link to an EVSE or custom URL but keeps the deep link itself, so it can be re-paired later.

  • From a single row: select the unpair icon next to the paired item in the Pairing column.
  • From the edit panel: open the deep link and set Pair type to a different value, or use Delete deep link (where available).
  • In bulk: select multiple rows and select Unpair in the bulk actions bar. The new Monta Hub asks you to confirm before unpairing.
  • Use the search box to find a deep link by its code or note.
  • Use the Pairing filter to narrow the table to Unpaired, Charging stations, or Custom URL.
  • If you manage multiple operators, use the operator filter to scope the table to one operator.
  • Select Columns to hide or show columns. Your choice is remembered the next time you open the page.

The new Monta Hub exports the full list of deep links as a comma-separated values (CSV) file in your browser.

  1. Open Deep links in the left-side menu.
  2. Apply any filters you want to scope the export. Note: the pairing filter is not yet supported by export — clear it before exporting.
  3. Select Export. The CSV downloads when the export finishes.
