How do I create and manage operator price groups?
Learn to effectively create and manage Operator price groups for streamlined pricing strategies and improved sales management.
Operator price groups let you create and manage pricing once at the operator level. All teams in your operator account can use these price groups. Changes you make to an operator price group apply automatically across all assigned locations.
What is an operator price group?
An operator price group is a price group created and owned at the operator level. It is available to all teams in your operator account. (If operator price groups are created in a main account, they will also be available to use in all sub-accounts of that main account). Teams can assign operator price groups to their charge points and members but cannot edit them. Only operator admins can create or modify these price groups.
This is different from a team-level price group, which is created within a specific team and is only available to that team.
Prerequisites
- You must have an operator admin role to create or edit operator price groups.
Create an operator price group
- In the Monta Hub, go to Shared configurations.
- Select Price groups.
- Select Create price group.
- Enter a name for the price group.
- Select a country.
- Select a currency.
- Configure the pricing model:
- Select Fixed kWh, Spot price, or Pay per minute.
- Enter your rates and any additional fees.
- Select Save.
An operator price group is automatically available in the price group selector for any charge point that belongs to the operator. Team members can only see the operator price groups applied to charge points of their team.
Set an operator price group as the default
You can set an operator price group as the default for teams. New teams in your operator account will automatically use this price group.
- Go to Operator settings > Team settings.
- Under Default price group, select the operator price group you want to use.
- Select Save.
Changing the default price group on a team does not update the price configuration on existing charge points. It only affects newly created charge points — they get the new default applied automatically.
Apply an operator price group to a charge point
- Go to your team's Charge points.
- Select the charge point.
- Select Pricing.
- Under Price group, select the operator price group.
- Select Save.
The charge point now uses the selected operator price group.
Apply an operator price group to a member
- Go to your team's Members.
- Select the member.
- Select Edit.
- Under Price group, select the operator price group.
- Select Save.
The member now uses the selected operator price group.
How changes propagate
When you update an operator price group, the change applies automatically to all teams, charge points, and members using it. You do not need to update each location individually.
Teams cannot modify an operator price group. If a team needs a different pricing setup, they can create a separate team-level price group.
