How to use remote actions in Monta Hub to reboot, start, stop, or force-stop charging sessions, and how to access charge point logs for troubleshooting.

For: Charge point operators and team admins managing charge points remotely in Monta Hub.

Remote actions let you troubleshoot and manage charge points without being on-site. Open the charge point in Monta Hub and click Remote actions to access them.

Available remote actions

Action Description
Reboot charge point Restarts the charge point.
Start charge Starts a charging session if a car is plugged in.
Stop charge Stops an ongoing charging session.
Force stop charging Force-stops any ongoing charging session. Note: using this action removes the payment for the charge.
Run a check Checks the current status of the charge point.

How to start a charge remotely

  1. Open the charge point in Monta Hub.
  2. Click Remote actions.
  3. Select Start charge.
  4. Enter and select the user ID for the user who should start charging.
  5. Select the payment method.
  6. Optionally, select a price group.
  7. Click Start charge.

Access charge point logs

Charge point logs are useful when troubleshooting. To view them, open the charge point, click Integration, and select View logs.

Log messages

Message Description
StartTransaction The charging session begins.
StopTransaction The charging session ends.
StatusNotification A change in the status of an ongoing charge.
SuspendedEV The car has suspended the charge. The battery may be full or the car is not accepting electricity for another reason. Monta has no control over this.
SuspendedEVSE The charge point has paused the charge — for example, during a scheduled charge when the charge point is waiting for the scheduled start time.
Charging The charge point is actively charging the car.
BootNotification The charge point has rebooted, either on its own or by Monta's command.
Disconnect The charge point has disconnected from Monta.
Connect The charge point has connected to Monta.

Log colours

Colour Meaning
Blue OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) states
Green Transactions (communication between charge point and Monta)
Yellow Disconnection and connection events
White Authentication and security events
