How to create a Monta account

Learn how to create an account, add or edit your phone number, email, address, bank account, language preferences and more!

Create an account in Monta Charge

  1. Click on Create new account
  2. Select a method to sign in:
    • Phone number
    • Apple / Google / Microsoft account
    • Email
  3. Read and accept the Terms & Conditions
  4. Click on I’m ready!

After creating your account, we encourage you to fill out your user profile with the relevant information, so you can use all Monta features to their full potential!

Fill in your contact information

  1. Click on Me and select Settings
  2. Click on Profile
  3. Add your personal information
    • Add your first and last names
    • Add and verify your email and phone number. We strongly encourage you to add both, to make sure you are always logging in the correct account.
  4. Select country, area and address
    • This address will be used in your receipts, while the area will be used for determining electricity cost and other tariffs.

Passcode settings

To secure your Wallet payments in Monta, you need to set a passcode that will be used each time you need to pay for something within Monta.

Once you set it up, you can enable Biometric recognition on your device to use, instead.

  1. Click on Me and select Settings
  2. Click on Profile
  3. Scroll down and open Passcode settings
  4. Click on Set-up passcode
  5. Select the 4 digit passcode, repeat it and click on Save
  6. Enable Biometric recognition (optional)
    • If you enable this, you will be able to input the passcode, using Face ID, finger print, or whatever option is available on your device
    • If you enable this, the first time, you will be asked to log in again to confirm your identity
    • If you do not enable Biometric recognition, you will need to input the passcode manually
  7. Passcode is used when:

Add or edit your bank account

A bank account is used when you want to withdraw funds from your Monta Wallet.

It is very important to make sure that your bank account is always is up to date! If you need to edit it, we strongly recommend to completely delete the old bank account and create a new one.

  1. Click on Me and select Settings
  2. Click on Profile
  3. Scroll down and click on Bank account
  4. Input your IBAN and click on Save
    • Please note that you can IBAN is the only supported bank account format.

Set the language

You can select among multiple languages in Monta Charge. This will also reflect in the receipts you receive when charging, for example.

  1. Click on Me and select Settings
  2. Click on Profile
  3. Scroll down and click on Language
  4. Select a language from the drop down menu and click Save

Enable Beta access

Click on Me, select Settings and toggle on Beta Access.

Other profile settings

The rest of the user settings include:

  • Find your user id
  • Set the preferred distance measurement
  • Set your email and marketing preferences
  • Request account deletion
