The Installer page is a public link generated by the operator for a specific installation job. Installers can open the link on a phone, tablet, or desktop and perform the tasks required to complete the installation.

The page allows installers to:

  • View job and site details
  • Edit charge point serial numbers and connector positions
  • Check connection status
  • Perform remote test actions
  • Add notes for the operator
  • Mark the installation job as complete

1. Open the installer job

  1. Open the public installer link provided by the operator.
  2. The installer job opens directly in your browser. No Monta login is required.
  3. At the top of the page, review:
    • Installer job number and job status
    • Charging site name
    • Job description and installation instructions
    • The total number of charge points on the site
    • How many charge points are currently connected (for example, 8 / 14 connected)

Use this overview to track progress as you work through the installation.

2. Update charge point details

Each charge point is listed in a table with its current configuration and status.

Edit the charge point identity (serial number)

If the serial number was entered incorrectly by the operator or is missing, you can update it.

  1. Locate the charge point in the list.
  2. In the Charge Point Identity field, enter the correct serial number.

Select the connector position

If the connector position is incorrect or not set, you can update it.

  1. Locate the charge point in the list.
  2. In the Connector field, select the correct connector number.
  3. Verify that the selected connector matches the physical installation.

3. Check charge point status

Each charge point shows a Status value that helps you understand whether the charge point is correctly configured and connected. The status field serves two purposes:

  1. It shows validation messages that indicate configuration issues.
  2. It shows the connection and operational state of the charge point.

Validation messages

Validation messages indicate that the charge point cannot be fully configured or connected yet.

You may see:

  • No serial – No serial number is set for the charge point.
  • Serial is in use by: [Team Name] – The serial number is already assigned to a charge point on another team. This prevents the charge point from being connected correctly.

If you see a validation message, update the Charge Point Identity field before continuing.

Connection and charge point states

If no validation issues exist, the status reflects the charge point’s connection and operational state.

Possible integration (connection) states include:

  • connected
  • disconnected
  • error
  • pending
  • Not connected (no integration configured)
  • no_integration

Combined status values

When the charge point state differs from the integration state, the status is shown in the following format: [integration state] ([charge point state])

Examples:

  • connected (available)
  • connected (busy-charging)
  • connected (busy-non-charging)
  • connected (busy-reserved)
  • disconnected (maintenance)

This combined format is only shown when:

  • The charge point state is different from the integration state, and
  • The charge point state is not passive

Use the status field to confirm whether the charge point is ready for testing or if configuration changes are required before continuing.

4. Perform remote actions (Testing)

You can use Remote actions to test and troubleshoot charge points during installation.

  1. Locate the charge point you want to test.
  2. Select Remote actions.
  3. Depending on the charge point status, the following actions may be available:
  • Start – Start a charging session to test the installation
  • Stop – Stop an active charging session
  • Unlock – Unlock the connector
  • Reboot – Restart the charge point

Use these actions to confirm that the charge point is installed and functioning correctly.

5. Add or read notes on a charge point

Notes allow installers and operators to communicate directly about a specific charge point:

  • Report installation issues
  • Explain configuration choices
  • Share follow-up information with the operator

Add a note

  1. Locate the charge point in the list.
  2. Select Notes.
  3. Enter your message in the Installer note field.
  4. Select Save.

6. Mark the installation job as complete

Once all required work is finished, you can mark the job as complete.

  1. Review all charge points to ensure they are correctly installed and tested.
  2. Confirm that serial numbers and connector positions are correct.
  3. Select Mark as complete.
  4. In the confirmation dialog, review the Activate All Charge Points option:
  • By default, this option is checked, meaning all inactive charge points will be automatically activated and made available for use when the job is completed.
  • If you do not want the charge points to be activated immediately, uncheck this option.
  1. Confirm completion of the job.

If automatic activation is disabled during completion, the operator must manually activate the charge points later in Monta Hub.

Important: By default, completing the job activates all inactive charge points in the group. Only disable this option if the site should remain inactive after installation.
