Dynamic pricing is a feature that allows you to set up a smart pricing model on the charge points operated by you. It enables you to sell electricity following the actual market price as it changes throughout the day.
This feature allows you to adjust your pricing model following the electricity price at the exact moment end user starts the charge. Dynamic pricing is build on top of Spot price and can be applied to Public price, Member price, Sponsored price and Cost price.
There are three steps to building a Dynamic price:
1. Select spot pricing
The first step is to select a Spot price type of pricing.
- Open the Price Groups tab in the Team
- Select to create or edit an existing Price Group
- Select the Spot price tab and give a name to the Group
- Specify a fallback price
- If Monta does not get data about Spot price, we will use the fallback
- Select if you want to add VAT on top of the price
- Check how your Price Group calculation looks
2. Advanced spot price settings
This section allows you to customize the dynamic price to your electricity bill. Toggle on to see the options.
Percentage of price which is variable - If your electricity price is a combination of a fixed and spot pricing, you can specify what percent is spot price and add the fixed price in the next section.
Min and Max kWh - Specify what is the lowest and the highest amount per kWh that the driver should pay. If spot price goes beyond these limits, Monta will use the rates you have input here.
3. Additional pricing per kWh
You can add any additional pricing from your electricity bill here. The amount can be set per kWh or in %.
Remember to check the calculation on the right side, so you can see how the final price is affected.
