Add an hourly tariff to a Price Group

When you are creating a Price Group, you can add the electricity transportation tariff. Tariffs allow you to set hourly rates within Price Groups, enabling you to reflect variable electricity or grid costs throughout the day:

• Tariffs apply to public, member, and roaming price groups
• Reflect real-time electricity pricing in your charging rates
• Add electricity transportation tariffs based on the time of day and location
• Dynamic changes throughout the day (e.g., peak vs off-peak)
• For roaming price groups, VAT is not included in the tariff amount. VAT is added to the charge at the point of payment.

With Monta, you can select from a list of Public tariffs or create a custom Hourly tariff.

Access hourly tariffs

You can create tariffs in the edit menu of a Price Group.

1. Select the Price Group tab of a Team
2. Click to edit the Price Group
3. Toggle on Hourly tariff and click to add one

Select a tariff from a Public library

1. Select the Public library tab
2. Click to view the graph of the tariff to see the changes in price
3. Select the tariff you need (you can select multiple)
4. Click on Select and view the tariff as part of the Price Group
5. Click on Save changes

Build a custom hourly tariff

You can create a custom hourly tariff if you want to include specific time-based tariffs in the Price Group. You can also use this feature to automatically switch between member price groups based on the time of day (e.g., day vs. night pricing) by using the custom tariff creator to set different tariffs for specific times of the day.

1. Select the My custom tariffs tab and click to create a tariff
2. Name the tariff and specify if your rates include VAT
3. Select a Season range – period of time when the tariff will apply
4. Create the tariff rates – the additional rates that will dynamically apply on top of the price
5. Daily schedule – select how the rates are applied during the day
6. Save and Select the tariff
7. See how tariff is applied in the Price Group and Save changes

Add an hourly tariff to a roaming price group

Adding an hourly tariff to a roaming price group follows the same steps as for other price group types.

The difference is that VAT is not included in the tariff amount for roaming. VAT is added to the charge at the point of payment.

1. Open the Monta Hub.
2. Navigate to the Price Groups page for your team.
3. Under Roaming Price Groups, select the price group you want to update, or click New Roaming Price Group to create a new one.
4. Expand the Hourly tariff section.
5. Select Add tariff.
6. In the tariff selector, choose a tariff from the Public library tab, or select My custom tariffs to create a new one.
7. Select the tariff, then select Select.
8. Select Save changes.

The hourly tariff is applied to all charges made through roaming platforms using this price group. The tariff amount does not include VAT — VAT is added when the charge completes.
