1. Introduction
What is a Plan?
With Subscription plans, you can offer a wide range of services to your clients, including operational support, maintenance, leasing, charge point repairs, charging perks and more. When you create and apply these services to your customer’s Teams or charge points, your company assumes the role of a third-party service provider, responsible for managing the plan and delivering the agreed-upon services to your clients.
In short:
- Definition: A plan is a predefined template or product offering. It outlines what services you offer, the pricing structure, terms, billing frequency, and included features.
- Purpose: A Plan acts as a reusable blueprint that can be applied to many customers.
- Analogy: Like the Netflix’s product page – plans show the available services, prices and packages that you can get but don’t represent any specific customer contract yet.
- As you apply this plan to customers, you establish a customer contract and start generating revenue. Once a plan is applied to a Team or charge point, it becomes an active subscription.
Through Monta Hub, you have the flexibility to create multiple types of Subscription plans:

Subscription plans can only be created by Operator users with Admin or Manager user rights.
What is a Subscription?
Once a plan is applied to a Team or charge point, it becomes an active subscription. In short:
- Definition: A subscription represents the contractual relationship between your business and a customer.
- Purpose: A subscription tracks how a customer consumes the plan, its billing details, and their lifecycle (start, renewals, cancellations, edit options).
- Analogy: Like your personal Netflix subscription – your subscription shows which plan you’re on, how long you’ve had it, and any specific usage or discounts tied to you.
2. Create a Plan
The examples below illustrate how to create subscription plans. Note that similar logic applies to all other plan types.
2.1 Example – Team – Priced per charge point
Select the type of plan
- In Monta Hub, navigate to Customer Relations in the left-hand menu
- Click on Plans & Subscriptions
- Click the +Create a plan button in the top-right corner
- Choose Team plan → Priced per charge point
Fill in the details
Complete the process by filling out all the required fields. Below you can find detailed explanations of each field per section.

- when you’re done, click Next

Subscription Settings
Define activation, payment renewal, and cancellation settings for the subscription.

After you finalize all details, review the plan summary and click Create plan.
2.2 Example – Flat fee – Charge Discount
Select the type of plan

- Click on Plans & Subscriptions
- Click the +Create a plan button in the top-right corner
- Choose Team plan → Flat fee

Charge Discount
This service is called Charge Subscription and is only available for Flat fee plans. This will give Team Members a discount for charging on your charge points.
- Toggle on Apply discount on charging
- Use the checkbox below to specify if the driver should get a discount only when paying with their Team wallet. If this is disabled, the discount will apply regardless of the payment method
- If you want to create a new discount, click on +Add charge discount
- Give the discount a distinct name
- Select a discount value in % of the charge price
- Select if you want to limit the charge points, where the discount applies
- Any charge point = Discount applies on all charge points under your Operator
- Selected charge points = Discount applies on specific charge points (select per Team)
- Click on Create Discount
- Once the discount is created, you can use it in other Flat fee plans as well
- If you already created a discount, click on +Add charge discount:
- Select a charge discount
- Click on Apply
- Select if you want to apply the discount only when the Team Wallet is used
- Yes = The discount will apply only when the user selects to pay with the Team Wallet, where this subscription is applied
- No = The discount will apply for all payments methods available to the user (Personal Wallet, bank card, Mobile Pay, Vipps, Team Wallet, etc.)
Subscription Settings
Define activation, payment renewal, and cancellation settings for the subscription.

After you finalize all details, review the plan summary and click Create plan.

3. Next Steps
The Subscription plan outlines the available services, pricing, and packages, but does not yet represent a specific customer agreement. Only when a plan is assigned to a customer, it forms the basis of a contractual agreement and begins generating revenue. Once a plan is applied and approved to a Team or charge point, the plan becomes an active subscription.
