The Monta Portal is getting even better with some exciting updates this month! Our team has been working hard to provide you with even more powerful tools to help you manage your charging infrastructure – this month’s main focus was on helping you set competitive, yet fair prices, with profit margins that are built for success.

Starting this month, you will be able to:

  • Differentiate pricing based on direct versus roaming charges for public charging;
  • Get a detailed breakdown of how charging prices and costs are calculated for each session;
  • Streamline your enterprise data with our new Partner API actions;
  • Leverage charging and transaction data with our new export options.

We can’t wait for you to try them out and see how they can make your life easier!

Learn how to access these features below.

Fair and competitive pricing with Roaming Price Groups

We’re excited to introduce Roaming Price Groups, a new feature allowing site owners and operators with public chargers with roaming enabled to differentiate pricing on a public charge point, depending on whether the charge is done through the Monta app or any other EV charging app through roaming.

With the Roaming Price Groups, you can now increase revenue by covering your own costs more accurately. As a CPO offering charging through roaming, higher fees usually apply, so it just makes sense to have a higher price when EV drivers charge via other roaming apps.

This new feature creates a more flexible public charging offering and can be used to set a competitive roaming price while providing fair pricing for Monta app users.

You can find it under Team > Price Groups and apply it to single charge points or in bulk.

We put together a short guide that explains how to set up a roaming price group. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer support team.

Take control of your charging costs and prices with Charge Session Insights

If you’re a professional public charge point operator or a site owner who wants to generate some profit from your chargers, you know how crucial it is to set the right prices. However, it’s not always easy to understand how to price a charge point and whether you have the right profit margins to generate long-term growth. You may have also experienced that it is hard to understand why a charge session was priced a certain way. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Charge Session Insights on Monta Portal!

With Charge Session Insights, you can now gain a detailed breakdown of every part that makes up the total price or cost of charging. The new feature allows you to see how different parts accumulate over time, giving you a granular understanding of your charging prices and costs for every charge session.

From now on, for every charge session, you can access a charge price table that breaks down the different components of your charging price. You can see:

  • The total kWh;
  • The price per kWh;
  • The price including or excluding VAT, tariffs, and additional fees;
  • The VAT;
  • The tariffs;
  • The additional fees for the starting fee, charging fee, minute fee, and idle fee after a full charge.

You can also access a charging cost table for every charge session that breaks down the different components of your charging costs. You can see:

  • The cost per kWh;
  • The cost including or excluding VAT and tariffs;
  • The VAT cost;
  • The tariffs cost.

By having these detailed insights into your charging costs and prices, you can make better decisions on how to adjust pricing and at what level. You’ll understand better how exactly the price of a charge is calculated, which will help you set the right prices for your chargers. Finally, you will also clearly understand how much a single charge costs you, to adjust your profit margins if necessary.

The Charge Session Insights can be found either under Charging site or Charge point  > Charge sessions. Read this guide to learn how to leverage the new Charge Session Insights tables.
